It might have been noticed before but I realised rewatching the finale of season two, that when Cooper is in bed at the Great Northern and says "I need to brush my teeth", he speaks exactly the way Mr. C does in The Return, it's striking.

Another thing I've noticed, Sarah Palmer arrives at the RR, speaking in Judy's voice (so I guess) to Major Briggs. We now know the beast was already in her back then. It almost seems like that scene (with Heidi giggling) is part of The Return.

I find this great 🙂

Whose voice that was coming from Sarah definitely became a much more pressing question for me as the Return proceeded. I know there was a long standing thought about it being Windom Earle - I think some subtitles even mark it as such - but that never made a lot of sense to me. It also kind of sounds like two voices, one that says the thing about being in the Lodge with Cooper, and another that says, "I'm waiting for you."

To my knowledge, we don't actually know who spoke those lines, or do we? Was it Kenneth Welsh, and thus the attribution? It's distorted, of course... And, in terms of the narrative, it is almost better to be unsure, as with the voice on the other end of the phone call in the Return.

I always thought it was Frank Silva's voice, at least the second one "I"m waiting for you"
