So the letters were spelling out Robert.

Could Bob be the manifestation of what Robert Oppenheimer thought they had unleashed. Taking his name from his creator.

If that's so, I hope the Peaks guys have some good lawyers. I can't imagine any of Oppenheimer's family being too happy about being linked with the evil personified in Bob, especially after all the crap Mr Oppenheimer had to endure.

Maybe just David Lynch thought of creep he knew who was named Robert. Mr. Eddy pushing a car off the road in Lost Highway was inspired by a jerk driver(s).

Just remembered that Leland identified BOB as "Robertson", the guy who lived near his grandfather in Pearl Lakes.

Cooper later has a revelation of the name Robertson, as "Son of Robert"

Son of Robert Oppenheimer? Would be nuts if that was preconceived from the original series, I hope it was.

It could mean the son of Robert Oppenheimer in the case that Oppenheimer created the nuclear bomb so by detonating the nuclear bomb he created Bob. That way Bob is the son of Robert Oppenheimer.
