"The McDonald Ranch House, also known as Trinity Site, in the Oscura Mountains of Socorro County, New Mexico, was the location of assembly of the world's first nuclear weapon."

The Oscura Mountains? They literally chose a place called "Dark Mountains" to build and test the atom bomb? That's some black "humor" right there.
-Laura:
Ok, now we've seen the origin story. I have a hard time believing that, unlike Bob, she'd be a one-and-done tragic story of a single teen. I think we're going to see that she inhabits humans time and again, including the teen we knew from the original series. Earlier in S03 she said 'I am dead yet I live' and then got sucked out of the Black Lodge. Good Coop then encountered Leland who asked Coop to find Laura. Where'd she go? I think that was the Laura spirit created by the Giant, not the physical Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks, Washington State USA. As a spirit similar to Bob, the transactional nature of the Black Lodge might not apply to her. I think we're going to see her again this season, but maybe not in the visage of Sheryl Lee.
The title of Episode 10 (to be aired on July 16th) is: "Laura is the one." I'm sure we'll see Laura again in this episode and find out who is the person she'll inhibit (my bet is on Becky Burnett, who is supposed to play an important role later in the series).

There are a few curious kinks in that.
First, there is littke to indicate she's much more than a molested, coked out, chick who makes us makes glad that Sherry Lee was over 18 else we end up on a list somewhere her diary. Granted it was released before this season, blue ray, DVD, and maybe FWWM. I would that Lynch (particularly since his daughter wrote it), would take this into account
Secondaly, why use the homecoming picture in the orb? Lynch isn't the type to spoonfeed casual viewers by putting the most recognizable image of the series for them to easily identify
However. . .

I wondered whether the 1956 date was based on something personal from Lynch's life.
I was also tut-tutting when they shared a kiss. Love is not going well in The Return - the New York kids getting their heads chewed off by Experiment in Ep 1, Richard Horne assaulting that girl in the Roadhouse, the mother and child and the car crash, rampant adultery in Buckthorn, South Dakota, etc. The only unpunished (so far) love has been Andy & Lucy, and, platonically, Shelly and Norma. And I think Andy has a secret (that Rolex).

Agree with all of the above except Andy's Rolex. I'm choosing to believe he got it as a gift for he and Lucy's wedding or a certain number of years at the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department.
