I am re-reading both the Secret Diary and the Secret History...
In the diary there are 2 things that really got my intention...the first one is that in Laura's diary Margaret's Husband was a fire fighter....not a lumberjack....
Maybe Frost and Lynch forgot to read it again or maybe she misunderstood and they never proof read it but .... if we follow the assumption that the 'wood is good' in Twin Peaks...the wood is sacred and host of souls ....would't a fire fighter be "more good" than a lumberjack who "destroys" trees?
There's something that always bugged me about the lumberjack/woodman in the convenience store being Margaret's husband.....if he was so good and so in love with her and is now trapped in the LOG.....why would he be in the convenience store? and why would he have been a lumberjack (evil person)? why would he be an 'evil spirit'?
I read of a theory that stated that Mrs Tremond and her grandson were 'hostage' spirits as in spirits that had been kidnapped by Bob and kept in the Black lodge and waiting room without him ever releasing them to the white lodge... maybe it's the same for Margaret's husband?
The other thing I thought a lot about was that in the diary Laura goes for a walk with her pony to an address she dreamt of. There she finds an OLD ABANDONED GAS STATION.
It might just be a coincidence or .... maybe Lynch just loves gas stations a lot!!!! They seem to be everywhere in Twin Peaks...
What do you guys think?
The Log Lady says that her husband was a fire fighter in season 2. She says it to Copper as she's giving him the scorched motor oil, that her husband had given to her, during the final episode (the only specific episode I remember - I think the other one is when she shows the twin peaks mark on her leg). However, in episode 6 of season 1 she says, "My husband was a logging man. He met the devil."
From the Access Guide pg 31 "The above ponderosa pine was a gift to Lanterman (The Log Lady) on her wedding night from her late husband who was a fire fighter."
FWIW, there is a gas station/store very very similar in an advert David did for Parisienne (sp) Cigarettes. Video has loads of interesting stuff, really worth a look. Gas station bit somewhere close to 15 min mark I think. https://youtu.be/RoCYbQBTmlY
In the SHoTP Margaret's husband is both: a lumberjack and a fire fighter.

Wait, Moonchild, there's never been any hint that the lumberjack in the room above convenience store was Margaret's husband.
That's a husband theory, made on the basis that he was a woodsman (though now you say fireman), and there were 2 woodsmen in the room.
But now that he was a fireman, well the Giant's a fireman too.

Yes. I made that connection as well when his name was revealed. It makes some kind of sense. He speaks to her through the log.
