I think those papers that Hawk found are the pages of Laura's diary that Annie wrote where Coop is! I really hope so because I'm getting tired of the clueless Coop storyline.
Definitely the diary! What was in FWWMTMP that I missed about what was in it? I only saw FWWM and I only remember Annie appearing in Laura's bed saying the good Cooper is in the lodge - write it in your diary...
i wonder what else I should there?

I think/hope you're both right.
Weird hiding place. Why not burn them? Or perhaps Cooper wanted them to be found at some point.
Can't say I'm tired of the clueless Coop, its kind of fun, and funny. I can't wait til he "returns" though.
I'm trying to remember where I know the pages from.
So are those the pages that Laura ripped out from her diary when she found Bob in her room?
Someone else ripped out the pages. That's why she freaked out and had Harold hide her "real" diary.
The pages are almost assuredly what Hawk was "missing".
Given that the"log" is what told Hawk he was missing somthing.
So, who put them there, and "when"?
Actually if Briggs died in the fire at the station, . . .
The scene points out that like Cooper, Hawk is "gifted." He sees the Indian Head nickel & is drawn to notice the co. name on the door, and starts examining.
This thread on Reddit has some interesting theorising: https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/comments/6gpdzb/s3e6_notes_in_the_bathroom_door/
I'm going to guess that Leland put the pages of the diary in the bathroom door when he was at the station the night he died.
Mike did not have those pages. I thought when they found the bloody towel ( tv show ) they had also found shredded paper that was sent on to the FBI. In FWWM Leland showed them to Laura before Bob made him kill her.
Cooper could've read them, seen their significance, and hid them before going into the lodge?
If any of the bad guys, Mr C, Leland/Bob put it there, it wouldn't make any sense at all. They are the ones that would rather have the pages destroyd completely. Not hide them. Or maybe it was a desperate move. But why not flush them down the toilet or throw them in the bin? Why hide them? Who ever hid them, wanted them to be found some day.
