The only problem with the "reality" idea, is it doesn't explain how Leyland and Sara would sound familiar, and the quiet "Laura"
Here is a picture. The upper is in episode 18 when cooper and laura driving.
The lower is from episode 4 i think.
There is something different.
But if it's our reality, why does the dead man in Carrie's apartment appear to have a bob-type egg sticking out of his stomach.
Mmm I think it's a shot in the belly and all his testicles gushing out, before she also shot him in the head
Testicles!? Doesn't look like testicles to me...or intestines 🙂 No blood there either.
The other thing that makes me think it's a dream world/alternate reality is the electricity at the end. Electricity is always heard when characters 'wake up' or cross realms - Audrey, Andy, both Coops. So it seems to me that Laura is 'waking up' as she realises the world she is in is fake.

there is a leakage between the 3 worlds, it’s obvious – we leaked onto twin peaks (Monica, Sunset boulevard, Audrey’s dance, Billy) and they leak to us (this TV series), and the black lodge world leaks to both of us – which means the mother/Judy might be the one telling her what to say, including her name if they ask for, whispering from the same side we heard voices when Hawk visited Sarah, and the one calling Laura at the end, which made Carrie realize the leakage and scream her lungs out.
To me, this is the only explanation that makes sense and I completely agree.
When Audrey 'wakes' up to 'reality' we hear electricity (always heard when people cross one realm/dream to another). But we don't when Coop wakes up in the motel room. Also his personality is already changed before he goes to sleep, he's already started to take on Richard's personality.
Interesting theory, but why didn't the owner of the house refer to herself by her real name, Mary Weber, instead of a name associated with the black lodge? Why did Carrie/Laura scream while the house seemed to change into something more forboding?
Also, we've seen the old woman and her grandson do the house-and-name-swapperoo before in the TP universe. The details in this case are different, but it's still not rock solid evidence that the house is in 'our' universe either. Clearly the lodge spirits can bend and shift reality, and that seems to be happening quite a bit in the Odessa universe.
