The Return has been pretty much impossible to predict (and that's one of the best things about it). However, I have 3 predictions for the final two episodes. And two wishes. First, my predictions.
- Harry Truman will die.
- We will see the violet ocean again. We will go, in some way, back to the white lodge scene (or situation) from the first episode.
- Mr. C will cut his hair and wear a black suit to disguise himself as the true Dale Cooper.
Okay. Then these two are wishes, I hope they will happen.
- We will see Mr. C's night view of a road in car headlights once more. And on the right side of the street, the iconic Twin Peaks sign will appear. As he enters the town. TBH, I've been expecting this to happen for a few episodes now, whenever we've seen that shot.
- The season ends with a bang, that will leave us with many questions. A bit like season 2.
That's it. It's been an amazing ride, and it's hard to believe the end is near. I'd like to hear your (serious) predictions, too. Thanks for everything and let's hope for a hell of a finale!
I was kind of imagining a scenario where the residents with super powers--Sarah and the green glove kid--are needed to take out Mr. C, since he has super human strength. It may sound absurd, but look at where we are.
I'm hoping/wishing/waiting that it will tie strongly with part 8 (1945/56 - the "nuclear plot").
I've recently read an interesting theory stating that the finale would/could work as a prequel to the entire show (FWWM style).
My friend's predictions are a bit bolder (they may or may not be as serious!):
- Audrey kills Cooper
- Evil Coop kills Gordon Cole.
- Annie and Windom Earle play chess together.
Both Coopers turn up at Twin Peaks looking the same.
Sarah Palmer is shown to be Judy the girl from 1956 who as the mother/experiment inside her.
Candie turns out to be Linda the daughter of Mr C and Diane.
Julee Cruise sings Falling in the Roadhouse at some point.
And the whole of Twin Peaks is connected to the Wizard of Oz.
The last scene will be the first scene from episode 1 ... the scene where The Fireman is giving Cooper the clues ("It is on our house now. Richard and Linda. Two birds, one stone." etc).
Prections:
- Harry Truman will die.
- We will see the violet ocean again. We will go, in some way, back to the white lodge scene (or situation) from the first episode.
- Mr. C will cut his hair and wear a black suit to disguise himself as the true Dale Cooper.
Hopes:
- We will see Mr. C's night view of a road in car headlights once more. And on the right side of the street, the iconic Twin Peaks sign will appear. As he enters the town. TBH, I've been expecting this to happen for a few episodes now, whenever we've seen that shot.
- The season ends with a bang, that will leave us with many questions. A bit like season 2.
So. Heh. Turns out none of my predictions were right (we did go to white lodge and to black lodge from the early season, but not like I predicted). And I love it. 🙂
Maybe the most important thing, though, was that the only thing that actually happened, was that my hope #2 came through.
It was an incredible finish to a wonderful season. It's such a shame the naysayers have bloomed here on the forum since. The lack of understanding is easily fixed though: go and see pretty much any reviewer's article about the ending. Their opinion seems to be rather unanimous: it rocked. But if you didn't get it, these articles explain to you, why it rocked.
