I'm just going to pretend that Good Coop just started dreaming during the stand off at the sheriffs station.   When he sees Naido, an image of Coops head appears on screen as he begins addressing everyone .  From that point everything that happened was a dream.

It's as good an explanation as any. Nothing that follows can be fully understood. Coop's "return" was short lived.
