What did that darkened circle mean in the 8 that Jeffries shows Cooper? The 8 flipped so that the circle was on the other side, and then it slid back to the original position. To me, this was Jeffries telling Cooper that he'd be put in Twin Peaks, drive the 430 miles and cross dimensions, but that he had to return back to the town in the other reality. He did that, but it didn't seem to have the results he'd wanted. When did it go wrong?

Probably where things went wrong was trying to change the past at all, right? I mean, could he not just leave well enough alone? Almost every present day conflict seemed to be resolved, but then he tried to have Laura "un-murdered." It's like, maybe some things are meant to happen, as awful as they are/were...
