Yeah. Really disappointed. Really. Disappointed. Really. So MANY unresolved issues. Okay, so we hope there will be a Season 4 or Movie or something to tie up loose ends, but I just wonder about all of the moments in these last two hours where so many things could have been addressed:
- Diane & Cooper making love, while Diane is covering Cooper's face
- Cooper & Laura driving
That seriously accounts for about 40 minutes right there!
Finale was 100% mailed in, an absurd amount of filler in that episode. A shame bc episode 17 was a speeding fright train of material.
I will agree I was pumped after 17 and 18 slammed on the brakes back to a snails pace.... I do think that Lynch is the master of the abstract and there are never neat endings and In 17 Gordon warned us.... when he told Albert it's probably not going to turn out the way I thought....
Ugh I have a hard time calling 35-40 minutes of absolutely nothing "materful". There was far too much filler for a finale.
Oh so you didn't wish there was more screen time of Diane and Coop f***king LOL or the almost real time drive from Odessa to TP LOL

I'm a lynch fan... but yea I'm a bit disappointed.... but maybe if it soaks in a bit...
He pretty much opened up a whole different branch/reality of the story....Which is fine. However he spent half of the episode doing absolutely nothing worthwhile (just driving).
Would I watch if there was another season/movie? Of course. But with the way ended, I see no chance of a new season.
I have no idea what kind of wrap up that was. Part 17 was great 18 has me ramming my head into a wall. Are they trying to say he went back and saved laura from dying so it changed everything including who he was? Was it all in his head and he was nuts? Im so confused and disappointed.
I am still trying to digest it all. With Lynch I did not expect to have it all tied up in a neat package with a nice bow.... he is the master of abstract. But it was totally not what I expected so I think I have to watch again! Gordon Cole did warn us at the beginning of part 17 it was probably not playing out like we thought!! I think either Coop is stuck in some repeating loop type of world or there is no "real Coop"..... or like you said when he interfered with cycle of what was and changed the future it changed the past? I understand being disappointed..... I was too....but I was actually expecting no less from Mr. Lynch - he likes to plant the seeds but wants the audience to make their own conclusions....
I agree that Cooper is in a loop and maybe there is no "real" Coop. This sounds right. After he goes through the door in the Sheriff's office basement, he's sort of being used for spare parts, I think. Maybe he's now officially a "lodge entity" like Phillip Jeffries or Major Briggs--but he doesn't quite know it yet. He still thinks he's Agent Cooper, but he no longer acts like him, he's more somber and almost a bit like Bad Coop (but without the malevolence). Maybe Bad Coop is an evolution of his soul all along, from another time, who came into Agent Cooper's timeline by mistake. We are seeing his soul change in the car ride with Diane.
WTH--maybe everyone is either a lodge entity or a tulpa? (And the tulpas are created by the lodge entities)

i think all of us ... even those disappointed ... would eagerly watch another season if offered. My first thought was "another cliff hanger" leaving the possibility open. But thinking thru it again I agree - the ending ended it. The past was changed that lead to the future being disrupted .... but who knows that concept could lead to another 18 episodes. I feel like Coop is trapped in his own pergatory!

It was awesome!!!!!
Episode 17 was the finale.
Episode 18 was just to show one of the many ongoing alternate endings there is ....
it is an endless project and leaves the door open for more..
Fantastic DL.. thank you
Only kind of annoying scene is Freddie vs Bob at station rest is pure gold..
Everyone's forgetting the Final Dossier? October 31

The one character being in the show since episode one being "killed" was annoying.
But the coop and Carrie road trip, "pure gold".
Blech.

Great ideas! I agree and that is why Diane had to cover his face when they were making love... she knew it...

Absolutely agree. My thoughts after watching #17 were "that was incredible, better than I hoped for, we don't even need another episode, I feel closure" etc
Of course my mind is still racing with possible explanations....
You just referred to people who enjoyed the series as 'Lynch sycophants'. Do you want to just stop now. Discuss what you saw and save the butt-hurt for Reddit.

Why do you follow me around in here posting about what I say - if you don't like it, then ignore me - if not, then stop attempting to stifle opinion

Totally agree 17 was great and I think your right it was meant to be the finale. I don't know if we will ever get more.... We can hope. There is still a lot of story to be told. Heck Lucy just figured out how cell phones work...
yep, total disappointment. Twin Peaks should have ended when Leland Palmer was arrested and died. All this new mumbo-jumbo was much ado about nothing. just my opinion.
Fuck you, Twin Peaks....FUUUUUCK YOOOOOU!!!!
Because I've been a staunch fan for the last 26 years, I made my husband go back and watch all of the first two seasons, FWWM, and now this. His final words, this evening, "I'm pissed. You owe me a lot of blow jobs."
Me: "You should have been there in '91."
Balls. Not surprised, but...balls.
