ok ... so I admit last night I had every emotion possible.... disappointment, confusion, fear, glee.... the gament.  But is not the fact that when watching twin Peaks we are so invested we get emotional sorta the point?  So much of our TV viewing these days is mindless chatter asking nothing of the viewer.  The fact that we are asked to think and to invest to the point that we have emotions good or bad - I think is what the outcome should be.  I think we will be discussing this for a long time... debating.... interacting...with diverse views.  That is indeed a beautiful thing and not something we see much of in today's world of fast food tv.

Yes. I call it being "actively engaged," rather being a passive viewer. That's the crux of it, IMO. Well said.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Twin Peaks has successful replicated what only it has ever been able achieved. Watercooler anyone?
