Margaret says it will. Perhaps this clip has no bearing, but my gut is still needled by her words, and I feel we're headed towards a resolution where the *spiritually potent/powerful* sadness/evil/darkness that marks Twin Peaks will be defeated. I also realize that the destination can be less important than the journey (or 'return' if you will), but this is shaping my thoughts as we approach the inevitable final conflict. All-purpose apology if this has been threaded elsewhere.
That is especially poignant given the Log Lady's farewell scene in EP 15. I don't think the sadness will end for everyone. One person's happy ending often requires someone to make a sacrifice thus experiencing an unhappy ending.
