One brother, Tim, has a Doctorate in Physics. Or rather, PhD, as it's known here. Mike didn't complete his and has one paper to submit if and when he can be bothered. At the moment, his qualification is a Master's, or MPhys as it's known.
It's known as a PhD in the US as well. Or rahter, a PhD in Physics, as PhD stands for "Doctor of Philosphy", and is the term for doctorates in many disciplines.
