As much as I'm anxious to have resolution to *some* of the threads, I'm also nervous about too much being revealed. Part of the ongoing love i have for Twin Peaks is that so much remained a mystery; the waiting room, the black lodge and its occupants, Bob... The mysteries leave us with so much to contemplate, to feel uncomfortable and confused about, and to be excited by.
Personally, i was disappointed when Gordon and Albert revealed information about the Blue Rose. The suspense and anticipation about it vanished in an instant. For me it detracted rather than enhanced the story. Too much closure makes for less exciting rewatching (especially if this really is the grand finale for Lynch). Some things I'd prefer left to swim in the beautiful mystery of this magical world Lynch and Frost have created. For me it keeps it alive.
How does everyone else feel about this? To keep the mysteries alive or reveal?
I agree. When Albert spoke of the Blue Rose it seemed almost jarringly on the nose so I hope most of the mysteries aren't resolved like that. That said, I'd like to be able to solve most of the mysteries by watching the show again. Having too much unresolved after multiple watches would frustrate me just the same.

Absolutely. I'd love the answers to the mysteries and riddles to be woven so deeply that in time we'll eventually unearth them. Of course, in this way, we'll always have inspired debate and conversation about these discoveries, with so many varying opinions that makes a forum like this so dynamic.
It's hard to say. I want some things to be wrapped up, such as the flashing windows on the plane, the mysterious flashing lights in some scenes, the significance of the armpit girl, the continuing enigma that is Candie... things like that, mainly.
Things in the main plot... I guess I'd like to know about the girl who is host to the roach froggy and what that is all about, the stuff that ??????? told Cooper, back in Episode 1, who or what is Diane working for or with, who was Mr C talking to when he thought it was Jeffries.
In fact there are so many open ended things it's hard to see how all of them could be wrapped up at the end of the series. In the meantime, I'm content to wait and see.

Yes. Some threads warrant definite conclusions, in particular who Diane is working with, who the host girl is, Richards biological parents, what actually is happening with Audrey and what's been taking place with Jeffries.
However I'd like continued mystery, or at least semi-mystery, around certain threads.... lead us to a conclusion but don't spell it out as was the Blue Rose. Just lead us *closer* to the truth about the froggy roach, the Giant/???? and his place of residence, the sooty woodsman, the odd behaviour of the TP residences. Leave those spernatural things up in the air for us to ponder and expand in our own mind and this forum ~ which attracts interesting minds and conversations as a result of the mysteries ? ... with only a few exceptions, that's exactly what we've been given ? so nothing to worry about then!

Agreed 100%.
Totaly forgot about "armpit girl", and in a show with so many complex characters, it's nice to see one simplified to easily lol.
Sam I think the frog host and what ????? said to coop will be big reveals in or just before the finale. I wouldnt expect those wrapped up any time soon.

Granted; I'll just be happy if we eventually get to find out what's happening there, even if it's right at the end, and leaves even more open questions. In fact, I can think of several conclusions to those that would do just that.
Sorry, I want as much revealed as possible. Perhaps not spelled out as "this means this, and this means that," but they're never going to do that. I really want to know as much as possible.

I'm very worried about open ended stuff bc im afraid lynch will have another season planned and showtime won't pick it up.
I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
Great episode tonight though.

The amphibiroach is man's inhumanity to man. That's what the whole episode was about for me. And trying to deflect evil but being unable to prevent its origin.

My point exactly! If these mysteries were spelled out for us (like the Blue Rose was) we wouldn't have a lively conversation here. We wouldn't be sharing and expanding on scene after scene of Lynchian brilliance.
I agree with your perspective on the inhumanity btw.

This seems to be Lynch's position, Annie B - "really want to know as much as possible." It is reflected in his interest in how far human (cognitive) endeavors can take us: spirituality, meditation, art & art-making, narrative/non-narrative, science, money/business, society, order/chaos, etc. This includes knowing that/what we don't, what we can't, what we can know with certainty or not at all. Mystery pervades, but from our real-world perspective it only becomes accessible at the edge of full-blown attempts at understanding.

I think after 25 years, enough with the mystery.. Let's wrap this baby up.. And I don't believe that everything will be wrapped up, I for one think that after all this time it should be put to rest. We have had long enough to come up with our theories and what we think its all about.. I honestly thought that was the point of the return.. I know now I'm never going to get an answer to what happened to Chester Desmond.. Which really wets my noddle, cause where the hell did he go?? And I accept that, but for the rest of it, its time for some closure..
