What could Albert and Gordon possible tell TP that she doesn't know?
From TSHOTW she knows all.
Albert explaining the Blue Book stuff to her was weird.
Is there any way the season 3 predates TSHOTW?
Been a few theories about the show predating the book and that Tammy will find it somewhere in the show. Too many inconsistencies to say for definite either way.
I think yesterday proved it.
Gordon and Albert would never give the dossier to someone who wasn't part of Blue Rose.
It just suprised me when they offered TP the blue rose job. Through many episodes I wondered why does TP not know certain things? She analyzed the dossier!
Obviously she hasn't yet.
This changes my perspective.
There is at least one scenario in which TP is aware of the dossier before the show: Albert doesn't know that TP has seen/analyzed the dossier. It was a hush-hush assignment assigned directly by Gordon; Albert may not even be aware that the dossier exists.
TP asks Albert who Jeffries is after the interview with Mr. C. She didn't learn much at all about Jeffries in the dossier, so could have seen this as a great opportunity to ask about him. Note, she didn't ask Gordon who he was and Gordon didn't respond to her question.
Albert tells TP about Blue Book and Blue Rose while Gordon sits quietly. In the scenario above, Albert would not know that TP is aware of that info.
It is much easier to explain how she could have analyzed the dossier before the show than many, many, MANY other things we are accepting.
I have to second that I felt her work on the dossier was her last test by Gordon, to see if she was ready to be part of the unit.
Very nice. I like that theory better.
She is being a good agent.
Also agree that some of the posts and threads on this board are absolutely ridiculous.
The implication of some of the threads is that Frost and Lynch have created a Marvel Universe size back story that they are mining. I personally think everything is much simpler and the story arc is fully supplied in FWWM and TSHOTW.
The original series takes place in 1989. Fire Walk With Me is a year earlier and leads up to the week before Laura's death. The Return is 25 years later which would make it 2014. The Secret History of Twin Peaks dossier is assigned to Tamara Preston August 4, 2016. (page 1)

The show is not tied to the book. M.F. & D.L. co-wrote the script so there were ideas they agreed on.

You jest?
Or haven't read the book?
At the risk of being body slammed by the masses, I still hope Diane pile drives or suplexes tiny little Tammy.
One thing I'm curious about is whether Tammy knows anything about Twin Peaks yet. There's no real evidence that Gordon's team have discussed Twin Peaks so far this season, right? I hope I'm remembering that correctly.
So far, I'm getting that Tammy's involvement with Blue Rose leads her to Twin Peaks for the first time, where she learns more about Mjr Briggs, which leads to the Secret History dossier and Gordon assigning it to her. Either that, or it's assigned to her around the time of this series, and she completes her work on it after it's done.
She could have been assigned it before the series, but then why would Twin Peaks have never been brought up before now, especially with the Mjr Briggs corpse just turning up like that, preternaturally young? It doesn't quite add up for me. The coordinates on the librarian's arm shouldn't be necessary to lead them to TP either (although yes, significant to Diane's correspondent).

I like Tammy. She has a very engaging walk manner.

I believe the next stop for the Blue Rose Task Force is either Las Vegas or Twin Peaks. We've seen things spread out over a couple months, but I think TP and the crew have only been at this a few days and they have probably been moving very fast.
Here is a hypothetical timeline made possible by having a private gov't jet. I tried to account for Diane's wardrobe changes...
Day 1 - call about Cooper; plans to leave for Yankton the next day; Gordon meets with Denise
Day 2 - fly to Yankton; meet Mr. C.; talk about need to meet with Diane; fly back to Philly; Albert meets Diane in bar
Day 3 - Gordon and Albert meet with Diane in morning; fly back to Yankton; Diane meets Mr. C.; diverted to Buckhorn while flying back to Philly; see Briggs' body; interview Hastings
Day 4 - visit the "site"; back in police station; in hotel for Blue Rose conversation; at 7:28 Diane texts about Las Vegas; at 11:05 Gordon meets with Albert; after bar closes Diane searches for coordinates
Day 5 - my guess is either Las Vegas or Twin Peaks
I imagine TP cast members like Dern doing scenes with the Tammy actress, and kind of rolling their eyes to themselves. Lynch let his pecker do the casting when it comes to Tammy. Wish she were a much stronger actress as that part should be significant if there's a 4th season and with Albert gone. (RIP Miguel - you were GREAT.)
Or maybe she'll improve in time. I hope so.
Chances are Albert will be 'disappeared' like Major Briggs if season 4 comes to pass.
The show is definitely set before Tammy reads the Dossier. That would indicate to me that the events we are watching are set in September/October 2015 when they began filming the series.
