Wouldn't that be an amazing plot reveal, if Gordon turns out to be some sort of villain in the world of Twin Peaks?
In The Secret History of Twin Peaks, Gordon is revealed to have a deep history with Richard Nixon and with Blue Rose cases and other odd events.
We all know about the pictures that he associates himself with, including an atomic bomb, an ear of corn, and a deer whose antlers and eye look remarkably similar to Glastonbury Grove and the opening to the black lodge. (Lynch always reminded us to look at the eye of the duck to be the important focal point, although in this case, it's a deer)
He has more knowledge about supernatural events than we previously knew from the first 2 seasons and FWWM. For example, the spiritual finger, talking backwards, and now a doorway vision from Laura Palmer.
What are Gordon's motivations around all of the investigations around Twin Peaks? He was the one who sent agents to Oregon to investigate the Teresa Banks murder (where one agent vanished). And he also was the one who sent agents to Washington to investigate the Laura Palmer murder (where another agent vanished).
It will be interesting to see where this all leads, but I'm thinking that Gordon Cole may either be revealed as a villain or some sort of mastermind behind a deep investigation into the Lodges, for whatever Machiavellian reasons he may have. The relationship that he has with Philip Jeffries will hopefully be revealed, including whether or not he had anything to do with a 3rd FBI agent's disappearance.
I don't recall Gordon having a deep history with Nixon. That was Doug Milford.
I think Cole was revealed in the book as being the trusted CIA source that Nixon or Milford called on near the end?
Even so, I do hope he isn't a villain. I don't get that vibe from him. He seems to be one of the few down to earth people in twin peaks, despite some of his eccentricities 🙂
If Gordon Cole is a villain, my name isn't Samuel Xavier Therapy.
Oh, wait...
Well, that would certainly put a twist on things! It's funny, because I'm quite happy to go with the flow in this series & am not particularly desperate for Cooper to become normal again, or Audrey to appear, or whatever.
But at the thought of Gordon being a' baddie' - I'd be traumatized!!
If Gordon is a baddie, then there is nothing good or sacred in the world!

What makes you think there is?
Gordon and Albert have been the best things in the Return IMO. I hope he doesn't turn out to be bad!

You got me there :p
Sad as I am to even say this..
I think it more likely that someone might kill him 🙁

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Of the four currently investigating in South Dakota the one I trust the least (or I get the feeling I should worry about the most) is Tammy. Even more than Diane and definitely more than Albert and Gordon. Denise was hesitant to send Tammy along with Gordon, ostensibly because Gordon tends to have a thing for younger women but what if there's more to it than that? Or even, what if it's only that, and the two hook up? Could their fates end up paralleling that of Sam and Tracy? There's a lot that could go wrong here but I'm hoping it won't.

Me too. I don't know if can live with the image of Gordon all naked on a couch being sliced by the Experiment.?
I think Gordon is too good a judge of character to let himself be tricked by someone he works closely with.
Hope so anyway!
Those are interesting comments/observations James, thank you.
May I ask you what about Tammy leads you to mistrust her? Is there something specific that she has said or done, either in Twin Peaks, or the Secret History of Twin Peaks, that would lead you to think she may have less than trustworthy motives?
