I finished my rewatch this morning (still none the wiser overall haha) but one thing caught my attention that hadn't before:

Is that engine oil the drunk is drooling? Because it looks pretty dark to me.

It is so hard to tell.  Could be coagulating blood mixed with puss or could be oil.

With your rewatch, although non the wiser, any new theories or details you've noticed in a different light?  It's so weird to me watching it now knowing what actually happens.

The main thing I took away was the key for the Great Northern, which is such an odd detail. I think I noticed more things this time that if you wanted to think of everything as part of a dream, there's evidence to back it up. The Mitchums and the cherry pie...their favourite just happened to be cherry pie? And they ended up in the sherrif's station? Strange. I noticed things being out of joint time wise more, maybe because I was looking out for them: the timestamps on the texts, Bobby talking about things he did that day when time passed etc.

The tulpas are ultimately made from little golden orbs and so supposedly was Laura. Was Laura created for a purpose? Was she a tulpa?

I think the main thing that occured this time was that there was almost a sense of ridding yourself of delusion (the world starts in a certain way, and its absurd but the seer can't see that its absurd, and then things escalate to fever pitch (cherry pie, Naido in the woods, the sick girl in the car, the drunk, Audrey's dance, the whole end parts in the sherrif's station) to such point that doubt is finally cast on the authenticity of the world around you. So you think you finally see the world with clear vision (the odessa world) only to find out you're still deluded (what year is this?)

I can identify the big themes, but a lot of the little details and what they mean, well, they drive me crazy!

Looks like Texaco-ca Cola :

What made me think of engine oil is that I associate the drunk with the sick kid in the car and the 119 woman. They all seem of a piece. And there's a Mark Frost interview where he refers to 119 and says people who talk backwards tend to have one foot in the lodge world. So I wondered if the drunk had an association with the lodge and I noticed the drool, looking all oily (of the scorched engine kind). On reflection, it does look a little too light to be oil.

WOW! This is amazingly insightful. Thank you.

This is why I love talking to others about this.  Don't know what I've would have done over the last year without you guys.

You're welcome. I'm just glad what I said made some kind of sense, to be honest ?

Made a lot of sense.

So why do you think the Mitchums had to go to TP with Cooper? They could have just as easily sent him on his own?

Maybe Coop wanted to believe in a world where criminals really have hearts of gold and can be converted to good and innocence by an act of kindness. Look at how genuinely affectionate and generous they are after they get cherry pie. Two dangerous gangsters like them should not be so easily swayed. And yet...

Well, they also got a check for many millions of dollars.  That would sway me pretty easily.   ?

You know, I'd forgotten about that for a moment! Of course, the money. Well, I'm obviously a simple man - give me a simple cherry pie ?

Take this for what it's worth, in David Lynch's new book, Room to Dream, in the opening it talks of his mother and how she came from the city.  Further, it states:

"She was bred on the smoke and soot of cities, the smell of oil and gasoline, artifice and the eradication of nature; these things are an integral part of Lynch and his worldview."

I found it odd that it specifically mentioned the smell of oil and perhaps this is why that element has been included in his various scenes in Twin Peaks.

I wonder if that hearts of gold reference hints that they are also tulpas. And maybe tulpas can be easily swayed by a pseudo Lodge Spirit like Cooper?

As for drooly guy, whatever he's drooling seems to tie in with whatever the sick girl in the honking car and the Woodsman operating the electrical generator (when Mr. C asks to see Jeffries) are drooling.

Well, therein lies another question. We know the lodge takes a part of you when you enter it. Do you take a part of the lodge when you leave?

And to what extent does that give you the power/ability to affect the environment/reality around you?

I'm wondering why the icky drooly guy has a piece of string tied around his head. Maybe his face falls off if someone cuts it?

Will it be the white light behind the face? Or will it be the black? Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets please ?
