I think we are all under the assumption that Lynch/Frost do everything for a reason so on a hunch I wanted to check timelines on the Roadhouse Ending songs.  I mean EVERY episode but the finale ended up at the Roadhouse no matter what part of the world or what time of the world...correct?

So here is the list:

1-2 Chromatics - Shadow - Released in 2015

3 - The Cactus Blossoms - Mississipi - Released in 2015
4 - Au Reviore Simone - Lark - Released in 2007
5 - Trouble - Snake Eyes - Released 2017
6 - Sharon Van Etten - Tarifa - Released 2014
7 - Green Onions? - Booker T and the MG’s - Released 1962  - Santo and Johnny - Sleepwalk - Released 1959
8 - nin - She’s Gone Away - Released 2017
9- Hudson Mohawk - Human - Released 2017
10 - Moby Rebekah Del Rio - No Stars - Released 2016
11 Chromatics - Saturday - Released 2016
12 -Chromatics - Windswept - Released in 2015
13 - James Hurley - Just You and I - Released 1990
14- Lissie - Wild West - Released 2016
15 - The Veils - Axolotl - Released 2016
16 - Eddie Vedder - Out of Sand - 2017 - Audrey’s Dance - Released 1990
17 - Julee Cruise - The World Spins - Released 1989

With very few exceptions, all of the songs are current, thus the roadhouse was rooted in our time and our reality...posssibly, maybe.

Well.......did part 8 really "end up" at the Roadhouse.  Or did it begin at the Roadhouse?  😉

Part 13 had to have happened in a different dimension because that was NOT part of my reality!

You are correct, nin was in the beginning of part 8 however James and his song in Part 13 were definitely this time period, just look at the haircut and aging.

I didn't say time period. I said dimension and reality. 🙂

You are discounting that the episodes all end up in our time (except episode 8 of course.)  I see Episode 8 as the beginning of all Twin Peaks lore, no or all coincidence with the 8 that Jeffries shows us in Episode 18.  But of of course I don't believe in coincidence so there is that...

James still does not apply.

OK, noted!

Is it the song, his acting, the new haircut or what else that is driving your distaste for this character?

I mean I never cared for him, he was a wimp of a bad boy in  my eyes back in season 1 and 2 but then I was pretty bad...

It's his existence.

I always thought he was a complete schmuck. Bad boy biker with a heart of gold and tears. SMH.

Then that song......then Evelyn Marsh?!

And then he returned.  And Shelley had the audacity to say he was always cool? But he clearly wasn't a bad boy or else she would have dated him.

Then that song.....again.

And of all the people in TP, James Hurley got to be at the big boss showdown.

I could NEVER EVER understand what made him so special.

I've never been his biggest fan, but I've always quite liked the song...?

I might've hooked up with any one of the females in TP season 1,2.  Including Donna's mom, Lucy "splits", Blackie, Ronette, Lana...uh, Lil.  Mrs. Temond might've held me rapt.

But as for dudes, I'm glad James wasn't universally seen as hot stuff.  He seemed like an annoying doofus greaser with wildly unrealistic expectations.  I'd probably only go for Hawk.  And Jeffries, but that goes without saying.  And Cole.  Maybe Chester.
