I didn't really know a better place to put this as it specifically will pertain to Fire Walk With Me and a little bit of Season 3..

If we were to sit down and watch Twin Peaks, according to the new time line, I figure it would go something like this...

The events of Fire Walk With Me all happen as we originally saw it, up to the point where Laura takes a ride with James on his motorcycle.  She will still scream (she sees Cooper in the woods) and will still get off of James' motorcycle and will run into the woods.

There she encounters Cooper, recognizing him from her dream.  At this point we follow the ending of Season 3 Episode 17 and Episode 18.

Yep, this effectively removes ALL of Season 1 and Season 2 and much of Season 3.

I will give this a watch in this method, I'll call it the Cooper Paradox Viewing, before I begin my rewatch of Season 1 and 2 and FWWM this Sunday.

Cooper Paradox Viewing...

I've been thinking about this ever since I posted it this morning.. My mind is running wild at watching it this way.  Gonna watch it tonight with lots of popcorn and some other fun stuff to munch on.  I'm sure I'll have some odd observations when it is done.

My evening started off with watching Fire Walk With Me (stopping at the moment where Laura jumps off of James' bike and runs into the woods), then I went to the final portion of Season 3's Episode 17 (where it picks up with Laura running into the woods).  I contemplated NOT watching episode 18, but I'll explain that decision in a moment.

I wanted to watch the entirety of Laura's story from where we are first introduced to her while alive and see how her story ends with Cooper's time travel to save her.

All in all, it wasn't as difficult to put my mindset into this viewing.  I figured the challenge would be having this type of viewing make sense without everything else to put it into context.  It actually viewed pretty easily.

What did present itself as a oddity was the transition from the end of FWWM to Episode 17.  Ignoring that it went from color to black and white, what happens is this..

In FWWM we see Cooper in the real world and in Laura's dreams.  The last time we see him in the real world, he is talking to Albert and Albert is asking him how he knows there will be another murder and to describe the girl.  Cooper states she will be in highschool, sexually active, and blonde.  Albert jokes that that describes almost half.  Albert then asks what she is doing now, Cooper replies that she is preparing an abundance of food.  This is the last time we see Cooper in FWWM in the "real world".

We cut to Laura carrying food out to a car for the Meals on Wheels where she encounters Chalfont and her grandson.  Chalfont then gives her the painting that would look good on her wall.

The next time we see Cooper is in Laura's dream where he tells her "Don't take the ring, Laura. Don't take the ring!"  This is the last time we see Cooper in FWWM (well, with THIS form of viewing).

The next time we see Cooper, he is older and is hiding in the woods.  THIS is where this viewing breaks down.  We are left to ask how he got there.

Keep in mind, this was my entire intent, to view this as if Season 1, and 2 never happened because Cooper saved Laura.  In viewing it this way, as mentioned, that's the only question that I am not able to answer, How did Cooper get in the woods to lead Laura out.

Okay, now for my hesitation to view Part 18..  I actually wanted to stop watching episode 17 as Cooper took her hand and she shifted from black and white to color.  I knew what was to come and it didn't really fit into the narrative of this viewing.

But I pressed on and discovered something rather mind-blowing..

Cooper meets the Arm-Evolved again and it asks Cooper:

"Is this the story of the little girl who lived down the lane?  Is it?"

Cooper never replies, but damn...  I always took that Audrey was the little girl as that's a quote she said, but in the context of HOW I watched all of this, it's gotta be Laura that is the little girl and it IS her story!

I dunno why I was never able to make THAT specific connection before, but when I watched it this way, it makes perfect sense.

*****

Other observations..

I am unsure why the Teresa Banks murder was a Blue Rose case.  I came to believe that a BR case involved dopplegangers or tulpas.  We never saw any evidence of a double with Teresa.

The old woman at Teresa Banks' trailer.  She walks in with a cold-pack on her face and Carl gets a "out of space" kindav look across his face.  Why? He then composes himself and says to Special Agent Desmond; "See, I've gone places.  I just wanna stay where I am."  WHAT???

Speaking of Agent Desmond.. What place did he go to???  Never had a resolution about that.

Anyways, those are my observations for this 'Cooper Paradox Viewing'

I thought it was pretty obvious at the time that the "story of the little girl that lived down the lane" was all about Laura.     There was an attempt at subterfuge with Audrey's earlier comment,   but I never really thought it was about Audrey.      The arm even reiterates the question for us,    the audience,   I believe.     It could have been for Cooper's benefit,    but I think not.

Teresa Banks' murder I believe is somehow connected to another Blue Rose case,   perhaps even the one  where the woman confronted her own tulpa and they had a shoot-out.     There is definitely something more to Teresa's murder in my opinion,    I don't believe we ever got the entire trail that led to her.

I'm a little confused by these 2 sentences.  Can you explain?

The FBI  saw the murder of two young girls in close proximity as being connected.

Carl was taken by aliens as a child as per the secret history .

I think the story of the little girl is relating to Sarah.

"Carl was taken by aliens as a child as per the secret history."

I'm not sure that was the original intent since FWWM was in the early 90's and TSHOTP was created just a few years ago.

And according to FWWM, Laura & Theresa weren't in particularly close proximity. They were a few hundred miles away from each other (S Washington and NE Washington).

I never did quite figure out how exactly they tied the 2 together and what would indicate to the Feds that Laura's murder was a Blue Rose case.

I'm pretty sure that Carl, Margaret, Douglas Milford and someone else all went missing as kids and it was mentioned in OS also

Yes, but I don't really buy Carl being abducted by aliens. Unless it was the experiment "alien."

Gordon explains that the Blue Rose task force replaced the officially closed army "Project Blue Book" about paranormal cases.

Not specifically tulpas or doppelgangers.

Teresa Banks was suspected by Gordon and his team to have been murdered by a not human entity.

Laura's death was another Blue Rose case linked to the Teresa Banks one (both dead, wrapped in plastic).

It simply  seemed odd that the Arm asked a question,    a full sentence one at that,   and then narrowed and refined the query for emphasis?      Or perhaps pointing out something that Cooper in the Red room wasn't quite seeing,    or responding in a way that he should have.     It just strikes me as odd.        I seriously doubt it is just a red herring,   but I'm flummoxed if I can easily answer why it was asked in that fashion.

Ahhhh that's right. She's dead Wrapped in plastic. (admit that you just read that to yourself in Pete's voice).

That's what tied them together. Thank you.

Well yeah, alien means anything other than earthly.

Briggs was at the Alpha listening post trying to capture messages, which he did.

There's the connection that Theresa had a letter under her fingernail and Coop was on the hunt for more.  He maybe was on a mission of inspecting murdered girls within some criteria.  He could've made many stops in the PNW.

And wasn't there a third letter... I remember they worked out that it was leading up to Robertson, "BOB", right?  I forget where all letters were found
