I was wondering if anyone knows if we'll get a complete bluray release of the entire series after the new series has aired.  With the problems the previous boxset had with the audio sync, I'm hoping Showtime are able to release not only "The Return" but also the original 2 seasons.  I'm not aware if they have the distribution rights to release them on dvd/bluray... fingers crossed they do, cause CBS ruined what was a great boxset

I'm assuming you know the first two seasons, FFWWM, and the international/first pilot have been out on Blue Ray for a while?

As it contains a TON of goodies in editied an unreleased scenes, there's not a lot left they can do with it.  However it's not on iTunes.

So that and its extra  content, and the new season, on 400k down for better quality and  not having to fumble around with disks is what I'd hope for

Showtime usually releases a Blu-ray set within a year after the final episode, but since this is a limited series, I'm not sure what will happen. My bet is on a separate S3 release.

And I hope we get the option of watching it as an 18 hour movie, with no breaks for beginning or end credits.

To be able to watch in as an 18 hours movie would be so intense and we've only seen 8 of 18! The two week wait is going to be quite the challenge. I wonder if the Twin Peaks Showtime YouTube channel will wait til just prior to Episode 9 to release their 15 second teaser as they've been doing, or whether they'll do it a week ahead of time to give us something to tide us over. 🙂

CBS is the parent company of Showtime.

I think this show is also available on streaming services, so probably the Blu-Ray will come eventually, but not too soon. "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones" from Netflix were released 1-2 years after the premiere.
