Poking around "The Search for the Zone", it seems that one of the Reading Links doesn't actually provide a link: Why Frequencies are the Key to Understanding Parallel Universes and Time Travel (link takes you to another site).  Or at least parts of it just take you to the soundtrack ad.

I Googled the title and this article came up:

https://www.multidimensionaltechnologies.com/2017/03/why-frequencies-are-the-key-to-understanding-parallel-universes-and-time-travel/

It's interesting in the context of the radio frequencies in the 1950's or even the humming in the Great Northern.

Yep, sounds like related to the hotel ringing.  Maybe it's ringing 'cause it's near 10/1-10/2?

Also that article you are referring to mentions Whitley Strieber, the author who claims to have been abducted by other-worldy beings continuously throughout his life. Some of Strieber's experiences have been noted to serve as an influence to the black lodge mythology in TP, particularly the owl imagery. There does seem to be a connection between the human mind/consciousness/subconscious and this alternate dimension we call the black lodge. Perhaps this other dimension is just a collection of different consciousness or a collective consciousness that can somehow be "entered" given the right conditions (geographical coordinates, specific times/dates, planets alignments, altered brain chemistry, etc.). The reason the "entities" of the black lodge speak in "code" is similar to how elements in a dream are thought to be symbolic. I keep remembering what Phillip Jeffries says in FWWM, "They live in a dream." Even if the mythology is not ever fully explained, I find the mystery behind it very fascinating.
