Just wanted to mention this, sorry if its already been discussed.
Is it possible that we can take the conversation of the two gals at the end as a Lodge reference? The two animals they joke about are black and white. I mean, you wouldnt happen upon those two particular animals without deliberately categorising by colour, right?
I get the impression Zebra is a person's nickname, not a thing, animal, or anything else. Dunno about Penguin; I'd have to watch again for a better idea of the context.
The colour could be significant, though.
I agree, to me it sounded as if they were talking about people. As in drug dealers, or johns or something like that. "Zebra's out" = someone who is out of jail?
That's the sense I made of it, too.
So far we've got these animals:
Dog (Could be B&W, like a dalmatian or many other breeds)
Cow (could be B&W, like a holstein cow)
Zebra (is B&W)
Penguin (is B&W)
I think that -maybe with the exception of the dog- all animals referred to are people.
What we need now then is:
Magpie
Angel Fish
Skunk
Postman Pat's Cat
to complete the set?
Silly me, I forgot Badger.
We also have:
Horse (which is the white of the eyes and dark within = white, and black)
What we need now then is:
Magpie
Angel Fish
Skunk
Postman Pat's Cat
to complete the set?
Don't forget pingu!
I for one found this one of the most confusing scenes, not least because lynch has a penchant for quiet dialogue over loud music. I agree with the previous comments about it being about drugs.
What we need now then is:
Magpie
Angel Fish
Skunk
Postman Pat's Cat
to complete the set?
Don't forget pingu!
And the entire cast of Happy Feet, the Penguins of Madagascar, Felix the Cat, early versions of Mickey and Minnie Mouse...
