I get the consensus that the scene with the giant in the ocean tower was the white lodge, in whatever space or dimension it's in. In episode three, where Cooper sees garland and eventually gets turned into dougie, we seem to see the white lodge has been taken over in some way, hence "it's in our house now". My question, given the urgency of Coops time in the white lodge and what we know now from episode 8 with the experiment, is who is mother?

Tangent, Coop REPLACES Dougie. Dougie went back to the Black Lodge & was destroyed, as he was "created for a purpose."

She is the mother of all abominations .... a creature released and called upon earth during the very first testing of the Nuke in New Mexico and the ceremonial that J.Parson was (apparently) executing at the same time to release her. Supposedly she is married to Chaos (Father of All) and she rides The Beast.

I believe possibly she is an ever-existing being that finally found her way to earth and released Evil (Bob and others).

I just read a very interesting article on Parsons' thinking by the always-brilliant Robert Anton Wilson that I thought some here may find of interest.

@skull, thanks for sharing

I had planned to spend most of today binge watching some Netflix originals...

... and now I find myself very distracted AND mesmerized as I read more about Moonchild, Babalon, Crowley, Parsons, Hubbard and another I found to be quite interesting> Margaret Cameron.

Hi. I'm new here but wanted to mention something I read recently about archons in the Gnostic tradition. This is from a wikipedia article: "The ancient astronomy taught that above the seven planetary spheres was an eighth, the sphere of the fixed stars.[1] In the eighth sphere, these Gnostics taught, dwelt the mother to whom all these archons owed their origin." Archons are considered by many to be parasites that attach to a living host.

This is probably unrelated but I still find the similarities very interesting.

In accordance with Dune lore, the Great Mother is: "the horned goddess, the feminine principle of space (commonly: Mother Space), the feminine face of the male-female-neuter trinity accepted as Supreme Being by many religions within the Imperium."

I think I agree with you. The Mother, MOM (reversed for "wow, bob, wow"), Experiment demon(?) are the same entity, goddess Babalon. Was she brought to us from various places, like New Mexico desert, New York compound glass box? Or maybe she is now in the Zone, Twin Peaks woods, where evil Coop and others are heading now? Just look at the letters and how they fit nicely together:

All this time I've been thinking that the experiment is the real evil.

But after re-watching episode 8, one thing that became apparent was how señorita Dido and ?????? seem more concerned about Bob on the viewscreen.

It made me wonder if the experiment/mother was nothing new to them (an ongoing evil they're already aware of), and her spewing out Bob was in fact the new development that concerned them and prompted the giant to create Laura.

I agree with this! The mother spews things out. That's what she does, but this time something went 'wrong' and set off the fuse box alarm.

Do you think we will get an episode that returns to that time and gives us more of the 1956 story? I think the last episode will be a return to episode 8.

I also think the thing that appears in the glass box is different to the spewing 'mother'. They're definitely not the same thing!

Mother looks more like a Vehicle for evil to me, than evil itself. She appears after the dropping of the bomb almost as a obvious concequence, a vehicle for the new evil to just come out. That could explain why the Fireman concern was BOB .

I would like another episode 8 style origin story, but I guess we've already had the ultimate origin story! That said, I noticed that the RR logo was black and white, obviously referring to history/backstory. It made me wonder if we'll see another black and white RR logo! I would really like that but it's me being greedy 🙂

We don't yet know who the girl who swallowed the mothfrog will be - we know she has dodgy knees (remember the girl had strange patterns on her knees). I feel this is too important for Frost and Lynch to gloss over. The question is, will it be shown in an origin episode, or in present day.

Someone here had the great theory that the girl could be the lady who uttered "blue rose". Given Frost's massive interest in ufology and tying this into the series, I feel an episode covering this is a perfect episode to enthrall viewers!

Of course, only 6 episodes left. There's a lot to tie in and resolve still, and maybe this is too much of a tangent.

Then again -"is it past or present". Maybe the resolving of the series takes place in the past, rather than the present.
