I have a question on mind you guys might be able to help me out with.

DougieCoop is clearly getting help from the Red Room. With the jackpots, the insurance cases and latest the assassination attempt by Ike the Spike. But if the Arm (the brain-tree) is from the Black Lodge and evil, why would he help Good Coop/Dougie at the Ike incident?

As an instrument to get Bad Coop/Bob back in line or am I missing something?

I addressed this in another thread but my belief is that the Black Lodge guys are helping out becausr Bob/DoppelCoop pose an existential threat to them.  Bob and Bad Coop aren't playing by the rules any more, so the nature of existence is threatened.  Even bad guys can be pragmatic when necessary.

Thanks Sam, that is sort of along the lines of my own thinking. I think Mr C/Bob has some kind of Grand Scheme going on (with Mother), possibly to rule the Black Lodge supreme (1), destroy the White Lodge (2) or bring on the Apocalypse on our plane/earth (3).

If 1 is the plan, I understand the Black Lodge spirits, but not if 2 or 3.

I think most of the Lodge inhabitants, even if mostly "evil", reckon the importance of balance. I figure completely destroying one of the lodges would probably mean the decay of the remaining one.

Destroying the human world would also mean the decay of both, as they are fed by human consciousness and emotions.
