Im pretty certain, when he was in the car with Ray, that he said to him:
"Remember, you have something I want."
But in one of the earlier episodes, he was very clear that he only ever "needs" not "wants"
It's only minor but I wondered if it could mean something.
Any ideas?

You have it the wrong way round. He makes it clear he wants, not needs.
