Any clues as to where Max Von's Bar, Diane's favorite watering hole is?  Could be Philadelphia, which was Cooper and Albert's home base.  Could be DC, home of FBI headquarters.  Could be somewhere entirely else.  I can't make out the license plate on Albert's car, but it doesn't look like a PA plate.

"I know where she drinks" is someplace Albert knows well. Logical guess would be Philadelphia.

That was my assumption as well, and the exterior city scenes could easily pass for Philadelphia (even to me, a Philadelphian).

'Max von(from) bar': this is probably a clue referring to the computer screen diane is staring at before albert calls her name.  The screen shows a red word bouncing off of a bar(curtain, infinite, etc.) which is first purple, then green as soon as she turns to face albert(green is the objective background of law, government etc. that provides conditions.  Further the green turns dark after the red hits it.... also diane is wearing red/green bracelets on right hand where the clue of the nails are.... max here means taking to max desire/red....wrong way to deal with green (dark green, color sheriffs wife, maintenance man from South Dakota, and others wear); also purple trouble song is playing when Richard goes tyrannical, tyrannical approach/desire to red green, aware of blue/limit, controlling it to the 'max, etc.....?

Did anyone notice that 'Max Von's Bar' has a similar logo with the 'Bang Bang Bar' in Twin Peaks? What do they represent? Another Lynchian symbolism?

Max Von Sydow played Dr. Kynes in Dune. So if it's not a clue then at the very least an easter egg.

Nice clue, probably then also a reference to the famous director Bergman(in whose films Max von always starred); and these films dealt with going to the 'max', psychosis, black magic, etc....

Including The Seventh Seal which had some surreal scenes a strong narrative, dealing mostly with the concept of death, and the place(s) between life and death. That is another discussion altogether and too much of a tangential rabbit hole here. 🙂

David is a fan of Sunset Blvd. ( movie ). Most likely inspired by the character of Max Von Mayerling

See, as a fellow Philadelphian, I couldn't picture that street here! Interesting. That would be cool though!

Haha. I thought it could pass for Center City, on Market or JFK.

Entertainment Weekly speculates the bar was in Seattle, based on the rain. Everything is open to speculation.
