The boss says "how am I supposed to make sense of THIS?"

And in reflecting his words back at him, Dougie says "Make Sense of IT."

FWIW, that shows a bit more agency on his part.

I thought Episode 6 was fantastic.  It satisfied a lot of questions people had like wondering who would be asked to see Cooper/Bob (Diane), who Linda might be, what Hawk is looking for.  The Richard Horne truck scene was so affecting and unexpected.  Janey-E was great.  Seeing Hilda at the R&R was also great.  5 stars.

"You've given me a lot to think about." Something major which maybe will end up helping Coop.

Good spot in Dale's slight changing of words from "How am I going to make any sense out of this?" to "Make sense of it".

Given that it was the Lodge spirits guidance which gave him the money to pay off the loan shark guys and it was also the Lodge spirits who indicated to Dale where to highlight on the forms, we can assume that this is another way of them protecting him.

I'm not sure how but I'm curious to see how this insurance fraud (assumption) ties into Dale's journey back to TP.

Why was Coop drawing ladders and stairs?  I wonder whether what I took for stairs were the chevrons in the Black Lodge floor pattern.  But might the ladders have some greater significance?

Never thought of the chevrons. Great idea.

Surely someone on this site works in insurance. And can make sense of his scribbles.

Could it be like "chutes and ladders"? Clearly seems intended to make connections between disparate items on the same page, such that the boss could figure out what is going in in the case files (my bet is that is will support Dougie's previous contention that top-sales-guy is lying).

I'm glad the boss could find the connections. I think it may have been indicated by similar scribbles on seemingly isolated cases. The zigzags may indicate that Antonio is crooked as his names were on several of those forms, and his dishonesty was helping him climb the corporate ladder.

From another forum:

The text on Todd's computer screen as the red square fades is apparently an email reminder about financial statements, including a paragraph which reads;

To understand how income statements are set up, think of them as a set of stairs. You start at the top with the total amount of sales made during the accounting period. Then you go down, one step at a time. At each step, you make a deduction for certain costs or other operating expenses associated with earning the revenue. At the bottom of the stairs, after deducting all of the expenses, you learn how much the company actually earned or lost during the accounting period. People often call this “the bottom line.”

Gary, that was really interesting! I wonder if |Dougie's boss would somehow get to Todd by the placing of the drawings...

Thank you but I can't take any credit for it.  I found it elsewhere and I haven't a clue how to verify it without a much larger TV! (Not that I haven't tried getting up real close and squinting).

Not an insurance expert, but a long time customer 🙂

My first thought in regards to the steps and ladders was related to the different tiers or steps you often enter when you sign up for a policy. Where I live, you enter a tier and move up the later with age and no incidents etc. Maybe that is what he is trying to say?

I believe that the payout policies all shared the same agent (Antonio) and the investigating detectives (Loomis and Stockton).

Guess whose names are mentioned in one of the case files?

Brad(ley) and Rod(ney) Mitchum, owners of the Silver Mustang Casino!

A potentially very interesting confrontation lies ahead.

It guess that if Tony "the liar" Sinclair was involved in fraud with the Casino fellows, then it's only logical for him to "cover" Dougie in work as he's probably watching him closely. Also, this would potentially connect Lorraine to Tony, since Lorraine was trying to get him killed while he was with Jade and Tony was covering him at work (meaning he had a story planned to tell about why Dougie wasn't at work and so on).

I like where this is going a lot. Fuck, Twin Peaks is back in style!
