Anyone else thinking it's possible the little boy with the addict mom ("One,one, nine!") that made a second appearance this episode are this generation's reincarnation of Mrs. Tremond and her grandkid?

Yes, I had the same thought... or at least something similar anyway.

Yeah, me too. But somehow the junkie girl and the little kid seemed more "real" than Mrs Tremond and her grandson. I doubt Mrs Tremond's grandson ever would go outside to check what's under a car etc.

I wonder if these two in anyway are relevant to the story. My guessing is that they just happened to take shelter in an abandoned house on the other side of the street from Jane's (or Dougie's) hook up nest.

I'm rewatching the episode where Donna Hayward meets Harold Smith for the first time and he offers her very simple childish food, lemonade and saltines with apple butter. And I'm not sure if there's a connection, but there are some similarities between the little boy and Harold in that they spend a vast amount of time indoors and have bad experiences with the world outside. They both clearly eat saltines too. In some way this could be a return of the Harold's character in the form of the little boy.

It's a fun thing to consider.

Tremonds/Chalfonts- Mrs. T. & grandson are not of our world.

This seems entirely plausible now after the rewatch and rethink. Apparently grandma didn't intervene this time.
