There is something going on with fingerprints. According to Colonel Davis, Major Briggs' prints have been identified 16 times in 25 years.

Agent Tammy Preston was also looking at fingerprints, comparing Coop's to Mr. C's. Not sure if she noticed anything there.

Also, given the timeline, it is not possible that the body of the John Doe is Major Briggs. Major Briggs died many years ago so his body would be severely decomposed by now unless he has doppelgangers running around.

My first post here, hi all. Maybe was just me but the fingerprints looked identical except they were reversed.

Yeah, they were mirrored.

Yeah, they were mirrored.

If the fingerprints were indeed "reversed" then they wouldn't have found a match to Agent Cooper to begin with, would they? I could be mistaken, but after taking screen shots of 1) Tammy holding Mr. C's fingerprints and 2) Both fingerprints set next to each other, they don't really look different... unless I'm missing something? I attached said images on top of each other for reference. Is there a better image online somewhere? I only bring this up because I DO think Tammy has discovered something important, or at least she sees something isn't right.

Maybe they're mirrors between left hand/right hand and not each print being flipped...

I think that it's possible that Mr. C kept Briggs alive or his body around for his fingerprints/clearance.  I'm sure we'll hear more about the other 16 hits.

The body is definitely Briggs though...

She looked at the exact fingerprint - the 4th in the 2nd row. The Cooper's and mr. C's are clearly mirrored.

And by the way, isn't it the "ring finger on the left hand"? Remember, the left arm stops working when they wear the ring...

My first thought was they were inverted as well since it's Dopple-Dale the Doppelgänger after all.

What constitutes a match? 5 points? Would the reverse still match up?

Ah, good eye, I kinda took that as simply being a smudgy print, but since it's the ring finger, you're probably right. It would explain why they still found him with 9 of 10 finger prints matching. Question is: if Mr. C is truly "mirrored" then wouldn't his left hand fingerprints be Cooper's right hand?
