"The magician longs to see..."

Could this be the magician from the famous #FWWM poem? Very exciting...

I subscribe to this theory.

In my mind, that girl is Judy - she looks like "Josie" and Judy should be Josie's sister.

I, too, immediately thought of Judy, then I thought "am I only thinking that because she looks vaguely Asian?"  I do, however, still think that there's a good chance this could turn out to be Judy who may or may not be Josie's sister depending on how much they follow their FWWM scripts.

I subscribe to the theory she's none of the above mentioned.  I don't have an alternate choice; I just think the Josie/Judy/Magician options are too obvious for the kind of story setups in Twin Peaks.

There are only a small amount of episodes so... I guess Lynch will try to "close the circle" with them.

I don't know - Lynch is not exactly big on "closing circles" (unless those 'circles' are actually loops, like in "Lost Highways") but, given how this feels like a "summa" of his previous works, that could be the case.

I wouldn't expect too much in the way of answers, though, since he always like to leave things very much open for interpretation.

Oh, well: we have a 15 weeks ride to enjoy 🙂

I'm starting to think the Log Lady is the key to understanding the whole thing, and perhaps is the magician. Go back and read her intro quotes: gum, fire, good vs. evil, dreams... she talks about all of it. Her log (familiar? Husband's spirit?) knows things, but she "longs to see" in a very worldy sense. She uses occult terms like "as above, so below." She also knows more than she is "allowed" to say, and she was integral to so many key parts of the plot, including Coop getting into the Black Lodge. She seems to understand fire in a transcendent way, and her husband knew how to access the lodge.
