Dougie's wife, upon seeing the sack full of cash, says something along the lines of, "this is enough to pay them back," so they clearly have a large amount of debt and it's probably not regular old credit card debt.

I think I've come to terms with the idea that Mr. C created Dougie.  So, I'm not going to argue that point anymore.

One sure wonders what Dougie had been up to. I mean, those two men who tried to shoot him and blow up his car?! Any connection with Mr. Todd? Should be very interesting to see how this story evolves.

I thought the two men were sent by DoppelCoop to kill Good Coop and ensure DoppelCoop could stay in the real world.

I wonder what will happen when the two Coops meet (and surely this will happen).  Will it be like matter and anti-matter colliding - total annihilation?  Though I'm still not convinced that Good Coop is in our Universe yet.

Don't bad Coop say to Darya? that he is due to go back in lodge but have a plan for that.  This supports the theory that he is in some way involved in the creation of Dougie.

Also, he managed to hold onto his vomit until after he sees Dougie sitting in the armchair in the black lodge, behind the red curtain, so maybe the vomitting of the garmonbozia is the trigger point for heading back into the lodge and good coop getting out and once Dougie was tucked away in the lodge it was safe for bad Coop to vomit.

I also noticed that bad Coop isn't himself when talking to Cole, Albert and Tamara P.  Clearly the whole experience has knocked him sideways, at least for while, although he does still have his memory.

You know, that was my first thought too! That they were hired by DoppelCoop! Because they were wearing the same clothing style. That made me think that maybe they were linked in some way. But I'm not really sure.

The theory I am currently enjoying is that Dougie is Doppelcooper's "arm," and that possibly all doppelgangers in Twin Peaks require, or come with an arm. One thread connecting this idea is that both Dougie and the arm "tree" evolution of the Little Man From Another Place have the malformed "baby head" resembling the baby in Eraserhead (Dougie's is revealed as he is destroyed). Perhaps these arms are both homunculus... incomplete humanoids created to do the bidding of the dominant doppelganger. Note the "Mother" that follows Cooper into the glass box and kills the couple also has a strange malformed homunculus head. Following this theory is the idea that anyone else shown to have a doppleganger in the lodge (Leland, Laura) could also have an arm out in the real world.

I love that talking about this wonderful show makes one sound like a crazy person.

Anyone else notice that Dougie shares the same name as Douglas Milford, the hero of Mark Frost's recent Secret History of Twin Peaks? It seems likely that could be relevant, as characters sharing names has long been relevant elsewhere in the show.

Dougie's shrinking arm as he was being destroyed seemed weirdly familiar... have we seen this before somewhere?
