Really?????? Jokes on us I guess.
He should not be rewarded with yet another season
Really?????? Jokes on us I guess.
Have you not seen previous Lynch stuff? This is surrealism at it's highest degree.
Honestly, did anyone expect a neat ending, where everything "makes sense"? I sure didn't!

Not expecting everything to make sense. But certainly didn't want a final 60 minutes of BS passed off as "art"
Uh duh.....
People wanting TP to be mysterious and arty and then need to get it explained and destroyed in last episode is getting tiresome.. It was magic. It still is ,, Thanks to DL not putting the spoon in our mouth...
I mean, this reaction is way too glib to be worth responding to. But I will say that maybe Lynch painted himself into a corner on this one. He brought in a lot of stuff and deepened the universe quite a bit, but then everyone watched the whole time waiting for it to click and it never really clicked. How can we admire something that doesn't ever consolidate itself to our common understanding?
I think I'm more disappointed that ep 18 seemed to retread Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire. But I suppose any artist's ideas aren't endless.
I concur.... cuz fuck you Lynch....or fuck us.
Adam...yes yes yes!!!! I wish there had been more stitching together of the loose ends but I get Lynch.....I don't care for the ending...I feel that maybe he did this whole thing to shut people up but we got great music...some Lynchian weirdness (always a plus) but above all else I sooooo wanted to see a showdown of what I surmised would be a truly evil spirit (mother?) and what I felt would be a counterpart (frogroach in full growth).
I concur.... cuz fuck you Lynch....or fuck us.
heheheh why can't we quit you, DL???? is the question.
Congratulations to those who make the break. "Letting go is hard"!
Ha! I'm totally into it. Exactly as it is.
We can give everything over and sometimes it isn't enough, all we get is lost. Fix your hearts or die (not you guys, my fellow forumnistas, rather thou, royal spirit, sojourner of dream-life).
I think he took a massive, massive risk with the ending, and we should at least appreciate his sheer balls. No other director on the planet, and I mean this, would risk knowingly pissing off his fanbase like this.
Now, what did I think of it? Disappointment, sadness and a sense of finality. Which is, I think, exactly how Lynch wanted you to think.
He gave you his good ending. All your favourites in the Sheriff's department and Coop saying goodbye.
I guess my advice to fans would be 'Stop watching there. Call that you're ending.'
This actually reminds me a lot of another ending that I personally loved after a while, but was disappointed by at first, and divided an entire fanbase...
The ending to The Dark Tower.
Same concept, effectively. Man goes through time, everything we saw happen and loved never happened.
I think we should all wait for the final dossier before we go nuts. See how it explains things.
At least now The Secret History's inaccuracies make a lot more sense.
I am surmising that Laura/Carries final scream after hearing her name was a call to the evil in the house. Laura is the one.....to destroy the mother???? The fact that the house responds is interesting and then we reflect on what Laura is whispering to Coop. So yes most likely the final dossier will answer our questions. I'm just thinking the ending did open the possibility for continuation.....
