I think this holds the key to explaining Cooper's actions in Part 18. It is never really explained in the film why Cooper does not want her to wear the ring, but MIKE does want her to. She ultimately does put on the ring, likely committing herself to the Black Lodge for eternity. We know MIKE is trying to help her. But so is Coop. So why do they disagree?

Mike doesn't help anyone. Turn on again FWWM. At the end he is sitting next to Little Man/The Arm. Speaking with him together. Laura wrote in diary, that Bob is afraid of Mike, he can defeat him. Now look again this end scene FWWM, do Mike looks like he is trying to defeat Bob ? No, he just want garmonbozia from Bob. He don't care about defeating him, only garmonbozia matter.

Mike is big fake, and I can't belive anyone is thinking that Mike and The Arm are helping Coop in season 3 without any business for themselves. They have own business that's why they are using Coop. They don't care about rescuing Laura or fight Judy. This is something for something. Look again old TP, Mike clues about Laura murdered was useless.

Mike said in S1 he saw the face of God and cut off his arm. So no, Mike is not Evil. Chronology is utterly meaningless when it comes to what scenes were shot and released before others. The arm evolved, when things evolve they become different, possibly going from bad or evil to good. However, there is still an arm doppelgänger which is clearly evil.

Of course he is evil. Because as you said, "Chronology is utterly meaningless when it comes to what scenes were shot and released before others". FWWM was released after season 1 and 2. It's the last knownledge we get about TP world. And what Lynch is doing ? He place our Mike on chair next to The Arm and they are speaking one voice. Bob is facing them, and they want only garmonbozia. If they have any power to defeat him, that was a moment to do it. But they only wants garmonbozia. It is the last knownledge about them. Next is season 3. In season 3 doppelganger Coop have to come back with garmonbozia. That's what they want. It start exactly the way it ended FWWM. Mr C spits out garmonbozia in car, because Dougie walked into the Black Lodge instead of him. Think what would happen if there wasn't any Dougie. Mr C would come back and spit out garmonbozia to them as in end of FWWM.

I appreciate the keen eye you've applied to Mike, Renata, but I would not expect total consistency in any of the characters. Bobby was an idiotic jerk, and now he's a responsible police officer. Nadine was completely out of touch with reality and now she's apparently a small-business owner. In Season 2 Benjamin Horne went batshit crazy and is now clearly sane. I could go on—but the point is, some things are maybe better not compared to the material from 25+ years ago if you mainly want to understand the new material.

And maybe Mike has evolved, like The Arm (it was his arm, wasn't it?)—or, from a practical point of view, he had to take on the role of The Man from Another Place, who is of course absent in Season 3.

Ok so first question. Does the Arm want Mr C with his garmonbozia back or not ?

Second, if he don't want him back for that purpose, why Lynch show us Mr C. spits out in car ? He spits garmonbozia exactly in moment when the Arm expect him be back. He has to vomit when electric things start to happen. I wonder, what else would Lynch to do, to show what's going on...Hm, go there as Gordon Cole and say "now you are seeing the Arm is calling for his food" 🙂

This is not from 25 years ago film, it is here, in season 3.

Perhaps Mike and Cooper simply have different ideas about how to solve the problem. Or perhaps they see the primary problem differently. At this stage, Mike doesn't appear to be hungry or desperate for lodge currency anymore, so I don't find that relevant.

my question is Teresa Banks wore the ring too where was She in the lodge??  Also a point to ponder is Mike cut of his arm...the little man is called the arm...possibly a manifestation of Mike's arm???  The reason the arm is afraid of Mike and why Mike can defeat him?  Mike is in control of the arm because it is his?

Mr C thought he was save in the car, away from electricity (AC) but he forgot about the electric sigaret-lighter (DC). The electricity pulled him to the lodge. He was almost there, seeing the red curtains. I think Lynch wanted to show us how close he was at that border by let him spit out the garmonbozia. In the serie i never heard the arm saying: where is my garmonbozia and lynch didn't give any clue about that.  This is my interpretaion about that scene,I can be wrong but so can you. All the scene's have so many interpretations so pick yours 😉
