Episode 18, when Dale/Richard and Diane/Linda have sex, we can hear the song "My Prayer" a cover version of The Platters.

This song was released on july 1956 and was number one hit on august 4th 1956.
http://hotpopsongs.com/the-number-one-hits-of-1956/

Just one day before august 5th 1956.
This day, a girl in New Mexico was listening this song on KPJK radio, a song while it was broadcasted a woodsman crushed the skull of the DJ.
After that...the girl sleeps and the frogmoth comes.

What is the relation between episode 8 and episode 18 with this song ?

In another topic, it appears that the scene in the first motel happened in the 60's.
This "Pearlblossom" motel was in New Mexico ?
Diane/Linda was the frogmoth girl ?

Next trip is in Odessa.
Different decade but 30 miles from New Mexico border.

I know that all of this is very confused.
Like my mind since 48 hours !

Very interesting indeed, thanks!

I would assume that, within Laura's the dream, Coop and Diane go back to the past, right before the nuclear explosion of episode 8, once crossed mile 430. A past that is then completely turned upside down by the subsequent events seen in that episode, when Laura is created and sent to the world, along with Bob and possibly other evil spirits (Mrs. Chalfont/Tremond?) that were not present BEFORE the "creation".

Again, this also does not conflict with my best guessed "dream" theory for explaining TP's end.

Such an interesting find! Good job.

I'm not sure how to piece it together thought. I think i have to print all possible theories and cross reference them just to give myself some peace of mind haha

I think it's just poor wording.  OP meant to say a cover version BY The Platters. Platters weren't the first to record it, by a long shot. A lot of the Platters hits are covers of standards.

Sorry, of course I wanted to say a cover by The Platters.

(I am french, most of my posts are probably far from perfect)

The original music was written in 1926 by a romanian violonist (with a french name), Georges Boulanger.

The original title was in french "Avant de mourir" (before dying).

English lyrics were added in 1939 and the song was named "My Prayer".

This is the definitive list of the soundtrack CD (available tomorrow, september 8th) :

I've missed that.

One of The Platters singers was...David Lynch.

He was in the original 1953 lineup and sings on 1956 My Prayer single.

He is on his knee on this picture.

Holy crap!  What a find!  I had to dig just a little bit for it, because I didn't quite buy it (shame on me). But you are so on point and my lack of faith has been adjusted.

I had no idea there were SOOOOOOOOOO many members.
