I thought the darkened area where Cooper went (followed, for some reason, by Cole and Diane) was the boiler room of the Great Northern?
It was the same area/door where James had heard the humming noise in an earlier episode, and we heard the same noise when Cooper, Cole and Diane were down there. And, when Cooper unlocked the door and went in, he met Philip Gerard, who also appeared after the humming noise in Cooper's hospital room. So, another mystery solved.
It just wasn't the sheriff's station, that's what I really wanted to get across.

You're correct. The idea that it was at the Sheriff's Station is "fan fiction."

Absolutely! That shot started with a pan around the area so we could see where we were, the same place James inspected when he heard the humming in an earlier ep. Surprised anyone thought otherwise---!
Correct!!! Which is part of my point.
In connection of Coop and Jeffries, there is one constant.
Who could then know enough about either to make calls and contact to people who knew both Coop and Jefferiea? Just Jefferies, The Jumping Man, or both?
How about Mike?
Not impossible!
Mikes/Gerrard. The one armed man was pretty one dimensional (no pun intended), in TPR, but if it was Mike/Gerrard that met Coop in the dark, there is little else to go on.
In the beginning of Ep 18 the difference in his right and left eye was quite noticible. It's worth a comparison to the earlier episodes
Along those lines, we should not forget The Arms doppelgänger. I assumed he would have had a bigger role after the first 4 episodses, but he still shouldn't be omitted

Touché, I had forgotten about the scene with James.
The reason I said the Sherif Station had a tint of sarcasm as all three where there and they got there pretty damn quick after a good bye speech and fade to black ?, and a nod to the original/Euro pilot (though that was the hospital)
Yes, The Jumping Man appeared when "Mr C" went to see Jefferies. Right before he went up the stairs.
but to clarify, I'm saying that Jefferies IS working against Cooper, and I'm not saying he's NOT

Wow! I rewatched that scene like 5 times and never noticed. Just realized the woodsman that throws the switch prior to when the Jumping Man appears is supposed to be the Jurgen Prochnow Woodsman from FWWM. So, letting someone upstairs is what he was doing throwing the switch in the meeting from FWWM. Cool. Who was he letting up the stairs then I wonder. Jeffries?
FWWM: I think remember the jumping kid took off his mask twice in the same scene , the last time there was a monkey behind it.
The kid also said "fell a victim" at the convenion store
Editet

Yes ,the monkey is behind the mask. Bytheway, this is the grandson of mrs tremont with the mask. That is not the jumping man, he is also in the room.
