well. i think there is an opportunity for a 4th season, but maybe Lynch won't be into it.

That was good Dale to me.  But it seems the last 15 minutes were like Mulholland Drive.  Coop seems to have jumped into another reality were 'Laura Palmer' doesn't exist.

I'm trying to decide if I care or not. I don't think purely Good Coop would drop loaded guns into a fryer knowing the bullets could explode.

Feel kinda like the whole show got erased.

Definitely the 'good' cooper here(actually the only cooper now) the shell of him, what is left of him after the end of season 2, now finally 'returning' to the problems that drove him mad 25 years ago.....Agent Cooper/Dougie from Las Vegas had to confront this, look to see what fire was down there, which destroyed his world of meaning as Dougie/Cooper.  Cooper checked the fire, and we saw Mr. C still burning bright, but now trapped in the lodge/redroom/jailed by the fireman, so that Agent Cooper proper could get a much better hold on the negativity and strength, rather than it running out of control as Mr. C, making it tyranny, etc. Thus Agent Cooper went into Judy(source of great negativity) Diner to confront this, re-appropriating it to himself, rather than hiding and pretending there were not problems that drove him mad before, still has to confront what happened with Laura, Twin Peaks, how this shattered his existence, he cannot return to it that simply, lost that sort of comfort or naivety that original cooper had. Notice that Cooper  now has to confront the night that Mr. C was dealing with, no way to avoid that, regardless of jackpots.....

We saw something about what would have happened if Agent Cooper went back in time and pulled Laura away from the final degradation and murder, she would have lived on 'trying to cope' with what happened to her, like when she said 'I was young, I did not know better', but the problem ignored still eating her alive(not confronting the problem, who killed her, etc., she was dead in Odessa, but hiding from it), shown in her life in Odessa and Cooper, both Laura and Cooper dis-satisfied with 'convenience store' life, avoiding Judy/problem/antagonism pretending everything will work out, but now its back to dreams, right at the problem where they were shattered......thus the naive Cooper/Mike who took Laura away the first time did not solve the problem, why Laura could no longer dream/go to the fireman in the woods like Andy did, why she is pulled away.  Cooper can no longer dream, woodsmen are running twin peaks and the world, thus the love song the woodsmen took off the radio exposes the pointlessness of the affair, something is missing.  Cooper must take Laura back to the source of the problem, Twin Peaks(which is as if she never existed, nor her family and what happened to them), and now the mystery just begins....time to take on the task Bobby tried to start at her funeral, what in the world/nature/community is going to called to account for what its doing? That pulling Laura out of the final murder still does not solve the mystery of those forces which were destroying her before, and are doing it to plenty more now.......

The world that sustained the old Agent Cooper and Laura of the original series is not guaranteed, and does not just come out of nowhere, serious work involved and problems to be dealt with....I thought it was a great finale, really honest and getting at some truth in it all, not a 'feel good' ending for things that dont 'feel good'.  Laura in Odessa, Richard(one from Twin peaks and Cooper/Richard) and Linda(Diane), these are real life Dougies, unable to deal with the problems, or prevented from doing so, just assuming the world is taking care of itself......Cooper's really got to face up to it now, and this is the only way he can return....., not the fake answer of the 'good cooper' magically untouched by everything that has happened so far....Judy is what is needed, the answer, what must be assumed properly...the source of negativity, not in the sense of 'wanting to harm/evil, etc.', but knowing the world is not consistent, the problems dont go away, real lives lost, things dont take care of themselves, you cannot expect anything like this if its not there, community, dreams, etc. discounted or ignored as not important.....
