I think we had a thread like this for last episode?

Basically, from here on out, in the next three episodes, what plot threads do you think we will have resolutions to?

Honestly? At this point, I'm only comfortable in saying that we will, in some form or fashion, see a resolution for Cooper (both the Dougie and Mr. C versions), and for Laura Palmer in some way. Those are, in my opinion, the only safe bets. Though, what those resolutions will be, I have no idea. I am bracing for the fact that they may not be what we could consider to be neat and tidy. They may leave us scratching our heads, with 50 different theories as to what just happened.

As for some of the other plot lines (and predictions about where things are going)... I've pretty much given up playing the expectations game. Yes, even with Audrey. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Audrey/Charlie story line simply carried on as it is until The Return ends its run, and then we're supposed to wonder about what it means.

I also used to think we'd see an invasion of Twin Peaks by the Woodsmen, or some other similar dark forces. An epic conflict. Some would survive, others would die. Now, I'm thinking that won't happen. I do think we'll have some sort of showdown in the jail cell, but that's it. I think that if there are any other showdowns during the last three episodes, they'll be more cerebral than physical.

What are your thoughts?

It would be apt if a final confrontation took place in the same interrogation room where Leland died.

I agree: Coop story will be resolved.

The Laura palmer story will be resolved but by being a revelation leading towards a new direction.

Twin peaks characters will have a final scene, either very clear and cliche/dream-like (like Ed+Norma's) or dubious and rich in visual language (did Stephen die or not? Sorry to break it to you but that was Stephen's last scene in the series and his story finishes there).

here are some possibilities (please write yours):

Shelly's final scene will definitely be about her relationship with her daughter (im scared her daughter is comatose or dead). Shelly has a lot of catching up to do with reality (she seems completely unaware about her daughter's serious life problems).

Jerry will certainly never leave the woods. His last scene will either be similar to the previous ones or him seeing someone/something inside the woods, perhaps metaphysical.

Audrey wont be leaving that room either. EVER. I have a feeling we might not see Audrey again but only hear about her from someone else (who will explain what is wrong with Audrey).

Perhaps this might be her father, though I tend to believe that his big moment was the beautiful father reflection monologue. Doubt he will have something greater than that to say again.

The insurance company/Mitchum bros universe won't be returning, doubt they ll have a final scene.

Janey-E's final scene will have to be about the realization of not needing such a perfect fake scenario for your family and life.

Diane's end must be related to cooper. Maclahlan and Dern are the archetypal couple of Lynch (from blue velvet which for many is considered the birth of the Cooper character) and Lynch's most loved children among the cast. The real lcoop will either end up with Diane in the end or they ll have a brilliant moment.

The best part guys: there are stories that haven't been told yet (some cast members haven't appeared yet) and I think this will be the pleasure of the last episodes: a new universe of characters out of the blue, right before the end. Not just the expected resolutions.

Honestly?  No idea at all.  Been wrong footed most of the time and I don't think that will change now.

It's not even obvious who some characters are siding with, if anyone.  Diane may be in league with Mr C, or playing a long game of her own; Sarah could be good or bad, depending.  What about Candie?  The 119 Lady?  Insurance guy?  Red?  I guess it's a given that Red is a bad guy but how does he fit in, if at all?  How about the Vegas cops?  We done with them?

The only ones I'm sure about are Mr C and his people being the baddies, then DougieCoop and his people (Mullins and the Mitchums), Naido, the Bureau, James, Freddie and the Sheriff's lot being the good guys.

Lost, is what I am.

I hope Harry Truman will have at least a cameo in the last episode.

The whole thing now looks to me like a giant chessboard (a 'giant-chessboard', so to say) where the powers that be are bringing their pieces in position. Like e.g. in the Sheriff's Police Dept. Cell Block, but also in Vegas. Some pieces are already off the board, like Duncan Todd. Especially his constant sitting in the same position calls the image of a chesspiece in position. And as is pointed by others, a lot of characters are somehow stuck in a certain position, supposedly unconsciouslt waiting for the great event, the big battle between the powers to happen and play their given role.

I agree with the chessboard idea.  Good call there.

After the Vegas showdown--I predict a two prong attack on Twin Peaks. I see the Woodsmen taking over Jacobys podcast (or the mic) and Nadine and Jerry being taken over by darkness. The deputies will be dispatched to take care of the mayhem Nadine & Jerry cause. Nadine will die (they wrapped up her arc with Ed), at the same time this happens and the sheriffs dept is empty except for Lucy, Bad Coop and Richard will come in for Niado in the basement. Lucy will be confused "Cooper you're back!!" Lucy will die or come close to death. Good Cooper will arrive shortly thereafter cause he's been hot on Bad Coops heels after whatever goes down in vegas. And I believe Sarah Palmer is JUDY or Laura Palmer is JUDY. Sarah I believe  has had a monster in her from the get go, and it targeted her because she was gonna birth Laura and sought to corrupt Laura. LELAND AND LAURA WERE BOTH EXPOSED TO BOB VIA SARAH.

I also could see Audrey finally getting over her agoraphobia and then stumbling into the sheriffs dept just in time to see the mayhem caused by Bad Cooper and Richard  . She won't be able to kill Richard (cause he's her son) but will be able to save Lucy by shooting Bad Coop, her rapist. Freddy Hulk Hands will take care of Richard.

Why  should there be a Vegas showdown? Chantel will fail to kill Cooper in the most comical way (it will be the peak of the comical killing failures), the FBI will never ever manage to find the right Douglas Jones (they look destined to fail by birth and finding him will be irrelevant once cooper gets to speak to Gordon) and Cooper will immediately leave Vegas. Only possible story I can imagine in vegas  after  a chantel scene is Dougie's surprising return or a final janey-e  stand-alone concluding scene. We are pretty much done with Vegas.

I like it! Maybe a few tweaks, but I vote for this one.

However, Leland was not exposed to Bob because of Sarah.  He's been playing with Bob since he was a kid.  He might not have even known Sarah as a youngster.

No idea.

I think that's kind of ideal, actually... best way just to sit back and enjoy the dénouement.

I have NO idea but I can't quite stop my brain from engaging in a bit of futile speculation/hope/expectation.

1. Cooper. I'm still hanging out for him coming back sooner rather than later (the question is, will he re-emerge in Las Vegas or is he back in the Lodge/waiting room?). Though he could still come back right in the last scene, I'm hoping that he'll be returning to Twin Peaks as well as to himself and that we may get at least a little time with him between the two. Funnily enough, even though gradually everyone looks as though they may end up heading for Twin Peaks, I'm now less convinced that we're going to get a direct Cooper/Doppelganger show-down. We've got lots of other interesting folks gathering ahead of a possible Mr.C arrival. Also, whether Cooper gets to stick around in this life as SA Dale Cooper is a big doubt in my mind.

2. Diane. I want to hear about "that night" that she promised to tell Gordon about way back when. I also have all my fingers and toes crossed that Diane and the good Cooper will eventually cross paths, ever since she emerged as a "real" person rather than a disembodied listener on the other end of a cassette tape. She's another that I'm not sure will get to stick around. I'm worried about Albert too but I don't think his story requires any resolution.

3. Las Vegas. I suspect we may have got all we'll get on the Mitchums and Candie, Bushnell and Sinclair. Their stories aren't really wrapped up (and it's oddly realistic that they wouldn't be) but I don't think we really need them for where things seem to be headed (Twin Peaks), do we?

4. Speaking of Vegas, I do think Janey-E could do with a bit of wrapping up. I'm rooting for "no knock, no doorbell" being her voicing her outrage to Chantal and Hutch busting in. Naomi Watts has been great and I've really enjoyed Janey-E in her gutsy moments but I'm a  bit maxed out on the rather boring sex-and-money-and-I'll-love-you thing she has going on right now. I hope she isn't bumped off in the process, though. Maybe those folks in the Red Room could re-manufacture a slightly improved Dougie for her and she'd be fine and happy.

5. The golden orb. I think we have to get more on this, either directly or implied. I've had such a hard time buying Laura as a manufactured being in an orb. Maybe if we hadn't had FWWM but she became so real, complex and very much her own person. I imagine the orb as possibly allegorical, representing her spirit or a spirit which she embodied or which inhabited her. Might it inhabit someone else? I came across an article from a few years ago in which one of the original writers (I think quoting Lynch or Frost but I don't quite recall) joked about season 3 (in its original conception, if the series hadn't been cancelled during season 2) bringing back Sheryl Lee as another Laura Palmer lookalike but a redhead this time (since we've had blond and brunette), who could then be bumped off again by BOB. It seemed a bit silly at the time but it could provide some resolution on the orb, maybe?

Those are the important ones. Of course I have a slew of other outstanding plot points, most of which most likely won't go any further. I do wonder what will happen to Richard. My hope is that he will return to Twin Peaks with Mr.C, get arrested so he can fill one of those remaining empty cells and then Freddie can punch him out in the process of fulfilling whatever the rest of his fate is.
