I think the only reason Coop didn't kill Richard on the spot was b/c he intuited he might be looking at his own son. Not that it would make him suddenly empathetic, but if Coop can USE Richard in some fashion, then he's useful. Coop will probably try to figure out how far from the demon seed tree young Richard has dropped. Not far! being the obvious answer.

It's interesting that Coop seemed to have no idea his potential son existed. If he raped Audrey, he never looked back.

This. It speaks volumes he was allowed to live.

Another interesting plot twist would be if Mister C develops some sort of feelings for or responsibility toward Richard.  This could be a weakness that could be exploited and bring him down.

Maybe Mr C did know his offspring existed but didn't particularly care.  It's possible all he wanted to do was spread the Black Lodge genes around and let them get on with it.  If that's so, there's no reason he would recognize his own son, unless they all had some giveaway like the aliens in The Invaders.  There are plenty off jerks around as it is; one more isn't going to be noticed much.

I agree.  That's why it would be unexpected.  Mister C becoming somewhat human.

I don't think they're father and son. There's not much evidence and it would be very convenient. I reckon Mr C just has a use for him, and wants some collateral over Audrey - maybe she is Judy.

Mr C uses people, then throws them away. He might want Richard as a backup plan, in case things don't work out as planned and needs to threaten real Coop that he will kill his son or use him as bait.

Maybe not. In this episode it seems like we also learned that Mr. C can experience fear. The ambiguity of "judy" in his conversation with Jeffries displayed it. Also, mr. C., like many rotten people, has the flaw of a desire for total control of things. He can't control Jeffries not force him to explain Judy. The desire for control is another form of deep insecurity. Mr. C has some fatal flaws.

When asked by an interviewer what he thought of the theory that Richard is the son of Audrey and Mr C, Eamon Farren told him he would never make any assumptions, which as one may expect is neither endorsement nor dissuasion.  Assuming that Charlie is real and really Audrey's husband, it is unlikely that he would be Richard's dad because Ben Horne said that Richard never had a father.  Everything so far points to Mr C being Richard's father.  It certainly has been implied that he is.  Whether or not he is his biological father, he seems to be his spiritual father and now it looks like he has taken him under his wing.  Mr C said that they are going to talk.

Mr C, evil as he is, is certainly capable of committing rape.  But it seems "out of character" to have carried out the act on a comatose Audrey.  Mr C and Bob especially I would think get off not on the act, but the terror and trauma imposed on others.. garmonbozia.  So if he's the father, I'd bet it was after Audrey's "recovery."  Being manipulated by Mr C, taken advantage of by someone she thought she was in love with.. then maybe learning the truth?  This I can see wrecking her emotionally.  Add in the demon seed son that would follow and her present psychological state is completely understandable.

I think this is the best explanation of Audrey's state of mind as we saw her in the past few episodes.

I arrived at the same idea.

Have to admit I don't have a clue, though.  So many false clues throughout that I'll keep it as an idea, not an opinion.

Evil generates evil and i think BOBCoop wanted to do it and is his father. Plus the idea of Richard being Robert'son, just like BOB used to call himself, makes me believe he can be much more than just a simple toy

Oooh, controversial! What about Alucard, the son of Dracula who famously goes up against his father?

And all the children of mass murderers, surely they shouldn't be judged on their parents acts.

Yes. If BadCoop is the father, it's also possible that Audrey knows she was raped while comatose (since she eventually had Richard) but she doesn't know by WHOM. Which matches Ben Horne's comment that Richard 'never had a father.'

Remember that Audrey and Wheeler had sex on his plane before he flew off to South America a couple of days before the explosion.  Without a paternity test it would be difficult to say who was Richard's father, even assuming that Mr C somehow inseminated the comatose Audrey (unless Mr C somehow just magically recognized his progeny, which may be possible as he seems to be some sort of magician.)  I'm sure it will all be cleared up (or not) by the next part or the one after that.  (However, I can't help thinking of the Old Curiosity Shop: Dickens wrote a scene that made it explicitly clear that Sally Brass and Daniel Quilp were the parents of the Marchioness, but deleted it from the published version because he felt it was well enough implied elsewhere in the novel that such was the case.)

I knew from last episode the father and son reunion would not end in a happy ending for Richard. RIP ? ?
