He certainly had a very focused, serious look.
If Cooper comes back and is not serious and mad as hell - looking much like our serious DoppleCoop - then it would be incredibly unrealistic. He has experienced hell and will be faced with a world falling apart. He's lost years of life and had an impersonator causing misery for the people he cared about. If Cooper comes back and gives the goofy thumbs up Boy Scout routine, he would deserve a punch to the neck and kick in the pants.
Kinda hard to imagine what it'd be like to wake up and find out that an Antichrist figure has spread unspeakable evil -- including to your loved ones -- all while wearing your face.

The Hutches attack Dale Cooper & Dougie's family in Las Vegas. They kill Janey E & Sonny Jim. Coop then kills the Hutches. Afterwards Coop travels to Twin Peaks.

Analysing the picture, suit and irises fits Dale Cooper pretty good; face expression points to Mr. C. Also note Mr. C driving the Chevy pick-up in Part 15 with a similar expression (but with a lot of vibrations).
I really hope there won't be much confusion about which Coop is which in the final episodes. I can't imagine TP becoming some comedy of errors...
Also I don't see why the driving cooper should be Mr. C. If I was Coop, I'd get in the car and go to TP instantly. Plus, the car kind of resembles the Jones' new BMW...
