ok so this is what I got out of the women with the sewn eyes.. in episode 3 she was trying to tell cooper not to go through the electrical sockets  that's why she shut off the big humming thing.. I think she was trying to tell cooper that he was suppose to jump with her .. think about it .. had cooper jumped with her hawk, Andy, Truman, and bobby would have found both her and cooper lying on the ground .. that was the whole point of major Briggs writing down the coordinates.. he thought he was leading them too cooper ..

the women with the sewn eyes was warning ⚠️ him not to through the electric she knew his brain would be fried.. but he choose the other women's advice the one who was rushing him telling him her mother was coming..

Did she jump? I was more under the impression that Naido got blown off.  But it's been a while since I've seen that bit, so I could be remembering it wrong. I just recall it not seeming entirely voluntary.

I just re-watched that (lengthy) sequence last night. She definitely did not jump.

She did warn Cooper about.... something? Could have been the electrical outlet. "Mother" was also banging incessantly to get in, so it could have been that she was sheltering him from.

Regardless, when Naido takes Cooper up top, and then pulls the lever, she is electrocuted and screams. There is a definite sense of shock and surprise with her, and then she falls away into outer space. It definitely wasn't a 'come with me' moment.

When Cooper re-enters the room, it is much quieter, and the number above the electrical outlet has changed from 3 to 15. And American Girl is there. Then "Mother" starts banging on the door again.

The outlet was 3, after Naido flicked the switch, it was 15.

Naido is also what Laura 'should have done'(instead of accepting the failed dream as dead forever, or the shooting of the 'conjured' person, tragic loss of dreams, blue rose, then killing the dreaming, etc.), accepting the dream does not exist, but sticking with it nonetheless, not accepting the rule of the existing, which if it tries to deny dreams turns into 'mother'/'BOB'(painful abominations taking revenge on the world which killed their dreams and caused their pain; and we have Sarah Palmer doing it against BOB types here, cannot avoid that 'in-existence', but how you deal with this is key, can be rational or 'wild west' like BOB), etc.  Taking the ring is going with what is existing when one continues to try and shoot the dream, which is 'marrying' to 'nature/'state of things'/government as it is existing, as corrupt, etc., the slow decay of natures violent cycles of destruction without any ability to intervene, which is crushed by the tyrants enriching themselves, barbarism,, etc.: the white on the surface covering the black within, Mike trading garmanbozia with BOB over the green formica table, the forming of nature by Mike(white) and BOB(black), which both support each other.  The return of Naido is the return of Laura's genuine dream embodied(how it looks now after 25 years), with the angels, etc., that was 'burnt' by BOB, Jacques, et al; and Andy now knows this is very important that she not be killed again, as surely Mr. C is looking to do by searching all those coordinates.....

I believe she was warning him not to go through number 3. He was supposed to go through number 15, and the doppelganger of the arm sent him to the wrong place as to make him non-existant.

naido warns cooper not to go through when the number is 15, and makes slicing motions with her hand (and we hear sounds like those we heard when the experiment killed sam and tracy). after naido flips the lever, she falls off into space. cooper returns, and the electrical outlet now says 3.  could this be a reference to dimensions?

That's what I said.

This topic confused me when we discussed it weeks ago. I didn't understand it at the time and don't now either. It seems that the explanation for pulling the lever had something to do with electric polarities, and this was also connected to Mr C. He was at that point staring nervously at his cigarette lighter in his car, and struggling to hold down his creamed corn. My understanding was that Naido had steered Dale Cooper in one direction rather than another.

Since the outcome favored Mr C rather than Dale, I assumed she was one of the bad guys. But now I hear that maybe Dale didn't understand the instructions and did things all wrong.

So what was pulling the lever supposed to accomplish?

I took a more prosaic approach & decided that, as Cooper went through #3 in episode 3, he was going to re-emerge in episode 15.  Guess I'll find out in a week's time!

Episode 15 might be a good call.

Whoever came up with the 'current' theory probably nailed the pseudo-scientific explanation.  When Coop enters the room, reality is stopping and starting, moving forward and reversing...not unlike alternating current (AC).  When Naido goes to the roof, she flips the switch, which causes reality to flow more smoothly in one direction, like direct current (DC).

Had Cooper left through the exit leading to the car adapter (which is DC), all would have been well.  Instead, his exit led to the wall outlet, which uses AC.  So his mind kinda got scrambled as a result.

If Cooper went through the "3", then he'd appear in the Mr C's car which could be an easy kill for Mr C.

But wasn't it the idea that the swap would have occurred at that point? The red curtains were beckoning bad Coop to come in. He was struggling to resist and looking at the cigarette lighter socket. Then Agent Cooper apparently went the wrong way, and the original Dougie appears behind the curtains. Bad Coop sees him,  and lets vomit go with great relief. Mission accomplished.

It isn't clear that bad Coop could have killed Agent Cooper if he was headed toward the lighter. It seems more likely a swap, just like the one in Jades place, would have occurred. The lodge has its own methods.

So it remains unclear, just how Naido was trying to help.
