Interesting fact about the actor, Lynch gave him a part of the back of YouTube videos of him doing various accents.

His accent is like I imagine SamXTherapy's accent is. 😉

This scene may be from the past,.. remember James mentions that they had to go to the Roadhouse soon? In the first few Episodes we saw James and Green glove in the roadhouse. I want to believe that, because I  felt like James was about to die for learning a secret Green glove was not supposed to reveal. And I don't want James to die!

All of what you're saying really rings true to me except your initial impulse that James will lead Freddie down the wrong path. Remember how we started the show: James has always been cool. And he was the last person LP said "I love you" to.

I dont think James will lead Freddie down the wrong path, but that Freddie may be confronted with James and the crimes and trouble he is headed for.  Depends how far James will snap, but it seems like he is headed to BOB territory.  James was very uncomfortable, almost hurt, during Freddie's story; when James said 'Why you?' its almost as if James is thinking 'Why wasnt it me', since James originally wanted to be a 'bookhouse boy' and help others, etc., but went on a wild spree resulting in several deaths after Laura died and claimed that 'everyone is black/hurt inside, this is just how it is to Donna when she was trying to do good', he gave up on it, now remembers when he was 23 and the dreams he gave up on.  He is now headed to the 'wild west', living on the edge, to make up for time and what he lost, going down in the dark boiler room like BOB, with fire and a door leading him somewhere, to the married woman and trouble.....

Freddie now seems like what James was supposed to be but gave up on(almost as if James shot his original 'blue rose' tragic dreams), but Freddie said 'Why not me?', there is no positively existing dreamer, just dreaming and living in a dream that breaks down, but if there is a void, reality is just a dream/fiction, your real dreams dont exist, what exists is finite and tragedies like Laura Palmer can happen; but then this also means the 'truck drivers', BOB etc., what positively exists, the 'world of truck drivers' that just are 'enjoying this beautiful day' while everything decays, their world has a void in it, is not consistent, they are also living in a dream that can be changed, its not the 'last word' on the dream, etc. . Fiction is reality so that what matters is the fiction/instrument/tool they are using to impose a fiction onto the world.....so 'Why not me?' with the original genuine dreams....James never took that step and now headed to the 'wild west', BOB territory, dancing in the moonlight like Mr. C....

Also, it was Shelly who said James was cool, someone whose approach to this is like James, 'everyone is black inside', thus go with the 'bad guys', the 'real dreams' of Bobby are fake, just hiding his 'black inside', how he will do harm, also makes Red more honest, genuine, 'on the edge' , etc....to Shelly

I forever love Lynch for slipping the Beatles into this.

Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late...

And is Freddie using a real east end accent (my west coast tin ear doesn't know shit)? What a hell of a story.  Hell of an actor.  Just a beautiful little gem of a scene overall to throw into all of this.

Absolutely!  Great observation.

The first 14 episodes of Twin Peaks so far have been all out of synch.  I think we've all realized that things are happening out of order (for reasons unknown) but it's all starting to sink in.

I wish Twin Peaks would never end.  Television has never ever been this good.

I thought that scene was really funny - a pastiche of 'comic-book-hero's-backstory' with the minimum spent on props.  I'm rubbish at accents - and I know the actor IS from London - but he sounded like Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins!!
Nobody's said 'in old Lahndoa Tahn' since Oliver...

In fact, the most recent comparison I can think of, is that I expected him to shout 'Parklife' occasionally!

'Hit the cobbles' also made me laugh.

I missed some of his story because of his accent.  I'm going to watch it again.

He said he saw a guy in the alley named Sam, told him to jump up on the boxes. 😉

Nowt to do with me!

At last we find out why he's wearing that glove.  I thought it was going to be just another background thing.

I wondered if it was an oblique tribute to Bowie, remembering his Laughing Gnome days and his fondness for Athony Newley impersonations.

The Fireman screwed up. Should've sent him to Montana to compete in illegal arm wrestling tournaments.

I'm from the north of England; accents are totally different here.  You heard of Sean Bean, right?  My accent is like his but my voice is deeper and a bit raspy from years of singing and smoking.  Like a Yorkshire Mr C.

I'm now picturing you as one of the farmers from 'All Creatures Great & Small'...  😉

If this kid starts smoking and hanging out in radio stations with that glove, we'll know something's up. Especially if he's prone to misplacing his lighters.

The only things I could really parse out from this were: 1) his story mirrors what happened to Andy right before, which leads me to believe this stuff happens more frequently than I'd previously thought. 2) His punching with the glove sounds like Mr. C's punches. 3) He was led specifically to Twin Peaks from far away, just like everyone else in the main cast, except he's just been introduced and he's "international"* (ooh, a Londoner, how exotic). So what's the poor sod playin' at, eh?

*And then, of course, Naido being an interdimensional arrival. So that's fun.
