Just like the majority of us, I have been a lifetime Twin Peaks fan, since it first came out and now, 25 years later I can't express how I feel having it back in my life.

I still have occasional nightmares of the Black Lodge and still can't watch the Black Lodge scene in the final episode of season 2, still a wuss at 41!!!!

So, couple of questions/observations  about this latest episode:

*When Chad got arrested by Sheriff Truman, what exactly were they arresting him for?

* when Andy was being shown things, the scene with him and Lucy, did anyone else worry he was going to shoot her, or just morbid me?

And of course my mind has gone blank with my other questions/observations.

Thanks for helping!

They arrested him for being a jerk!  Haha, no no, they didn't specify a charge.  I'm going to guess they got him on tampering with the mail.  They were watching him for months though so they could have a stack of things to charge him with.

I thought it looked like he was going to surprise her.  I don't think anyone could ever make Andy hurt Lucy.

Thank you for clarifying that I'm not crazy about the arrest.  I think I was so freaked out by the scene of Andy with the Fireman I was just expecting something bad to happen.  I love how he is a changed man now and can't wait for Sunday

Hi Jennie, I am an old-timer. I remember anticipating this new David Lynch television show and being completely mesmerized by it. You couldn't tape it, record it or find many people who knew anything about it. Any friend you had who watched were just as amazed, amused, and creeped out as you. We named our rotisserie football league (that's what we first called fantasy football) the Twin Peaks Football League. When we moved back to Ohio, it became the Tony Packo's Football League (keeping with the TPFL, we named it after the favorite restaurant of Klinger, from M*A*S*H. The character and actor were from Toledo Ohio. I'm in Cleveland, home of "The" NIN's Trent Reznor (Renzo namesake?) Anyway, I'm demanding we change it to Twin Peaks Football League, The Return!

This season has been like a gift. I have loved Twin Peaks from its inception but, I became a fanatic after Part 8. Having grown up Catholic, I'm a sucker for a good creation story.

1. Nope, never said. Told him he knew and they'd been watching him. Maybe they just wanted to put him in jail while they went up the mountain.

2. I definitely did not see that, Jenni. I could see him pushing her off a cliff but, he's a good man.

Thank you for such a lovely response. Twin Peaks becomes a part of you, hard to explain if you aren't a true fan.  Part 8 was so amazing!  As soon as Monday hits I immediately check this forum to read things I either missed or didn't understand and by the responses on this forum; there's so much I don't understand.

How amazing is a TV show/FWWM that can keep people discussing it for 25 years and even then still so many unanswered questions.

I think we may jump back to a scene of Chad doing something in particular which lead to his arrest.  The thing that I noticed was that it was a bit like Leland Palmer's arrest scene - the false pretence to get him in a room & then arrest him...

I didn't understand the dream scene with Andy & Lucy, but I think Andy's been set up to be 'unlikely hero) with the hair sticking up & what appears to be a cushion up his shirt (it seems to come & go)

I was a bit nonplussed that they left poor Naido in a cell with those 2 guys though!

The other thing I noticed about Andy & the lodge was that the way he was looking upwards reminded me of Becky in the car.

Chad was surely involved in some dirty business (drugs?) with Richard Horne. Richard handed him a pack of cigarretes full of money at the Roadhouse (can't remember what part/episode). They sould know about that since they were watching him for months.

Miriam send a letter to the police explaining the kid getting killed and Chad intercepted it on Richard Horne's request.

That and the roadhouse money.

chad is a dirty cop.

The scene with Naido, Chad, and (I presume, Billy) strongly echoed the S1 TP pilot, when jailed Mike and Bobby howled menacingly at James Hurley in his cell. Except this time I'm not sure who is the object of the howls. They were creepily animalistic, just as DL intended.

One thing seems pretty clear, though. Placing Naido in that jail cell doesn't seem to be a safe place, contrary to Andy's instructions.

Yeah, what about the fact that we've already seen a woodsman floating through a jail cell??

Jennie H. It is jarring and potentially revealing when we realise how being afraid something might happen turns into thinking it will/is more likely to happen. TPTR is an encyclopedic tutor on such common cognitive distortions.
