That would mean that Jeffries pointed at him not necessarily because he saw his doppelganger in the Lodge, as many people (like me) have always believed, but maybe because he went to the place where the people maneuvering and pulling the lever (like the man on the planet in Eraserhead) of the dreams are ("I've been to one of their meetings") and he saw that the dream we live in ("It was a dream. We live inside a dream") was Coop's.

After the first time watching Inland Empire i was in shock and imagining a reality in which one dream is inside another and so on like Russian matryoshkas. Your question made me think back to that one!
