Murat, I usually enjoy your assessments even if I do not agree with or always understand them. I am still broken that you brought a Pauly Shore movie in to the inner sanctum, but after a thorough cleansing, I'm working on getting past it.  😉

But I'm gonna have to put my foot down with a Freddy Krueger analysis/comparison.  Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge horror fan and am especially fond of the campy 80's horror. This is an unimaginable stretch and frankly young man, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Just kidding, I think you're great even though this analysis has me doing some serious eyebrow raising.  🙂

I'm impressed that you found the Freddie Sykes character from Wild Bunch.  That was immediately where my mind went to.

Keep up the good work.  You help keep my own analytical skills sharp.

To be fair, it was cyndeewillow who uncovered the link between Freddie Sykes and 'The Wild Bunch', which got me thinking about 'The Wild One' with Marlon/Wally Brando.

I agree that Freddy Krueger is a stretch here, but check out the 'wild west' song again and watch the crowd.  Around the middle of the song a guy appears on the right-middle side of the screen dressed like Freddy Krueger, and is dancing crazily, then I thought of the boiler room, etc.  BOB is actually close to a Freddy Krueger type character, comes into local teenagers dreams and destroys them etc., lives in the boiler room where he makes his crazy statements....etc.....Good to remember that BOB was credited in this episode as well, even though he barely appeared, his 'specter' is still present in Twin Peaks.

And Dougie's form reaches throughout all of suburbia, gated communities, and every strip mall, and to the depths of the popular culture boiler room, the wild California zombie man lives on well past his time....that is horror.....

I'll definitely have to watch that scene again. Didn't notice any crazy dancers in worn out striped sweaters and Indiana Jone's wannabe hats.  But I will most definitely look for it.

If it is indeed what you say it is, then I owe you a great big beer! Because this may be the most freaky, genius, and unlikely but perfect theory yet!

no hat, but he is wearing a shirt very close to the one Freddy Krueger wore, and it is out of place with the common dress of the crowd.....

I'm just waiting for someone (possibly Eddie Vedder) to do a cover of Smooth Criminal when Cooper returns so he doesn't forget she who has not been named.

Well, there's at least one truck driver not going to be doing too much singing now.

The Freddie Krueger link does seem a little stretchy to me, but who is to say what's a stretch in this?  However, the Wild Bunch and Wally connection is interesting. Wally reminds me a bit of Major Briggs in the way he talks --of course he's mimicking Brando but both Wally and Briggs have that Stranger From a Strange Land vibe of someone who has "seen things."

Hmm I felt like Lessie's song was awesome and all the bands have been incredible however...... It takes away from the small town feel of Twin Peaks.   Julie Cruise was the house band and that fit so perfect.  This season the roadhouse has become some music hub. Feels more like something in LA and doesn't make much sense. Makes as much sense as Sarah Palmer removing her face and shooting X-ray torpedoes out and then ripping some dudes throat out like she was some sort of  rabid hyena. Then James is talking to some coworker about his bionic green glove that gives him the power of a sledgehammer. Yep. A magical green glove and James is like "ok that's no big deal. Thanks for the story dude" . This truely isnt a complaint at all.  I'm loving this season. I'm thoroughly entertained to say the least. Especially with Gordon's dream.  As things become more and more bizzare it reminds me more and more of my crazy dreams just before I'm about to wake up.

4 hrs left and I imagine Coop must wake up at some point.....But who knows where or when? I think I know. It's a stretch but I think I know and it would be AMAZING

Sarah Palmer's scene made emotional sense to any gal who has been hit on by a vile, toxic roadhouse rat, just saying. I think David put that scene in for the girls.  For the fans but also for Laura and Maddy, for Becky, for Shelly, for Audrey, Miriam, Grandma Horne, etc. Very therapeutic television event.

Alright, the guy with the 'freddie krueger type of shirt'(horizontally striped red and black shirt with long sleeves) is not dancing crazily, but nodding his head with a big smile the whole time and swaying back and forth.  I guess I attributed 'dancing crazily' to him because most of the crowd is doing this.

Yeah, that scene was almost like a  revenge/answer to the similar one in FWWM where 'Buck the truck driver' is sent by Jacques to Laura and Donna and then takes them to that depraved 'Canada' scene.

I picked up on the Wally-Briggs thing as well, when Wally called Truman 'godfather', almost as if Bobby could be saying that to Major Briggs after that 'palazzo/house' scene at the diner in the original series; and wally mentions the 'palazzo', calls it 'dharma', in relation to his 'godfather' Truman......the law sustains the 'house' where everyone lives a certain way, etc...almost as if the 'wild one' Brando has finally returned from his spree to recognize the importance of law and justice, not just tyranny, violence, recklessness, etc.

I agree.  It was very therapeutic for me.  Sarah could have gone after anyone since the point of that scene was to introduce the "real" Sarah.  Finally, a women gets the drop on one of these dirtbags, without getting a drop of blood on her.

And she asked him so politely to go away....numerous times......much more politely than I would have.

I've enjoyed all the music. This show has helped me discover several new performers and awakened my tastes. Where's Julee Cruise? I wouldn't be surprised if she came back in the very last episode. Asking in such a way seems a skosh indignant and entitled.

Exactly. The unusual formality of their speech patterns, like ambassadors from a higher plane returning to everyday life. We know that was Briggs to a fault. It seems funny with Wally but that is just because of his youth and because he's the child of the two daffies. As we're seeing now, though, both Lucy and Andy seem like lodge VIPs. They have been noticed.

It also reminds me a bit of Kyle MacLachlan's characters in general--Agent Cooper, and the kid in Blue Velvet. The stilted pauses, the formality of their communication style, all seems related to a kind of alienness that comes out of spiritual journeys to the light and dark sides of existence.
