Does anyone else think that Richard Horne looks more like Ray than Evil Cooper? I mean, seriously, if you stood Evil Cooper and Ray next to each other and I had to decide which one was Richard's father, it would be Ray.

I'm still baffled that Ray didn't protest more to the notion of bringing EvilCoop up there.

"That's the dude that I totally shot, and then ghost men came and did something and now he's here again."

"Interesting.  I kinda want to wrestle him."

"Sounds totally reasonable to me."

Now that you mention it, yes he does look a little like him. My question is - what on earth was Richard doing there with Ray and co?

Richard has now been witness to two supernatural feats. Red with his clever coin trick, and Mr C literally punch the living daylights out of Ray with a single hit.

it wasn't Ray he punched, it was that other guy. He shot Ray.

..and they didn't SEARCH him- he had a gun!

and yeah, Richard does look like Ray. I doubt it's a thing, but love being wrong!

Hi sky,

To me, Richard, Ray, and Red could all be members of the same family.  The "Evil-R-Us" relatives.  =:-O

Out of everything the return of Twin Peaks has given us, the entire scene with Mr. C arriving and the arm wrestling that ensued was easily my least favorite part of what we've seen so far (with the possible exception of James' encore at the Roadhouse).  The whole thing seemed so contrived.  There is a giant gang of men with guns ready to put Mr. C down ... unless he can beat the big muscled man in an arm wrestling contest.  In that case, he becomes leader of the entire gang whom he doesn't know and who doesn't know him.  The whole thing was forced nonsense in my opinion.

I thought it was to show the complete patheticness (if that's a word?) of the whole set up.  These 'hard men' are like a bunch of sheep - any winner of an arbitrary pissing contest will become their leader & they'll follow him mindlessly...

It's really not so far fetched from common group mentalities.

First, they are so secure in their leader, that they figure there's no way Mr. C can beat him.The epitome of sheeple.

Also, gangs (organized gangs) do live by codes as hard as they may be to ascertain from the outside. These codes are core and and vital the survival of the group. The code says that this is how it is! Well, then, this is how it is.

Additionally, I think Mr. C's comments about kindergarten and nursery school acknowledged the futility and "lameness" of their proposition/code.

I also thought that Richard looked far more like Ray - the bone structure of his face is similar - especially if you look at his cheekbones.  Kyle MacLachlan has very high cheekbones, just under his eye sockets, the other 2  have a wider bit of bone towards the front of their faces - if that makes any sense at all!

Yup.  Kyle M has a similar cheekbone structure common to my mother's side of the family.  It's a trait all the children in my generation share, and it's so strong we all look like siblings rather than cousins.  I *think* it's an Irish characteristic.

Sounds likely, I think it's a Celtic thing, as to go with my pale blue colouration, I have pointy cheekbones & hollow eye-sockets - and you can spot everyone related to my Mum as we all have the same arched eyebrows.
I have to laugh at this craze for 'shading & sculpting' your face 'cos I'd look like Peter Cushing after a bad night!

I'm pretty sure that Lynch and Frost are poking a lot of fun at the low budget action movie genre. Think Transporter, Expendables, Hong Kong actioners, etc.

The color palette is all greys and muted colors like you see in some of those films, and the set is one of those empty abandoned buildings that always seem to house the bad guys. And just look at them...they're all straight out of tomato can thug central casting with their outfits and obvious lack of brains.

And what do these supposed bad-a$$es with all those guns and machismo do at the big confrontation? Kung-fu battle royale? MMA style fight inside some arena in the basement ringed by a chain link fence? Brawl on the roof with nailed bats or chainsaws? No.

They arm wrestle. At a table. To see who's boss. Funny stuff.

Mr C's comment about Kindergarten may be telling us what Lynch and Frost think about that genre.
