I think the point was that Chantel and Hutch are traveling south- presumably to Vegas. It also gives a rough timeline as to when they'll arrive for their "double job".

I think you're having my reaction after part 12. Lynch/Frost take everything at their own pace. Last week it bugged the crap out of me (especially the Gordon scenes) and this week I don't mind. I think it's the nature of the beast since the show operates by its own rules. Our expectations are often violated, which we're not used to. But then in the long view sometimes we come to appreciate the obvious quirks.
99% of most TV and art plays by the rules of audience expectations. And much of it is quite dull. I can live with feeling irritated by TP here and there b/c it is anything but predictable most of the time.
I have been very on the fence about this entire season. There have been great moments, as well as a few great episodes. (Episode 8 was amazing!) Overall, though, I am not enthralled by the new episodes. I'm SO bored by the Dougie plot. I also thought that everything should be picking up for these last few episodes, but instead it's slowing down.
I keep hearing people (friends included) say "we just have to wait and see how it turns out." I see what they're saying, but there's nothing that's going to make me excited to watch mute Cooper wander around a casino again.
Oh well, at least I'll always have the original series and FWWM.

See, here's the thing that's been bothering me (and you've kind of hit on it).
Several fans (including many on this forum) have talked about the long game, the big picture, how this is an 18 hour movie. Heck, I think even Lynch has described it that way. And, yes, I get that. I have no trouble comprehending that concept. We're not to view these as 'episodes' so much as parts of a whole. Yes, yes, I get it.
But then we also know that Lynch very much wanted this to air in 18 parts, like a traditional TV show, and that's what irks me. You can't say that this an 18 hour movie, and then deliberately choose to break it up into 18 segments, playing as traditional TV episodes, and then chastise people when they're having issues with the pacing, etc.

Yes these are exactly my point .. I have also heard a few cast members especially KM say they would return for a season4.. which makes me feel like season 3 is going to be left with a lot of storylines left hanging.. but that's just my opinion

I think the weirdest thing he has ever done was write a list of 10 clues to deciphering Mullholand Dr. If you really look at the clues, or try to answer them, they're pointless. And I think that's the point. Mysteries for Lynch need to be left unsolved.

If that is the case I'm sorry he should have left twin peaks a lone.. nothing has been note worthy to me .. so far anyway .. I like lynch but I don't feel like everything is gold.. just because your an artist doesn't mean I have to love everything .. it's like a painting just because it's by someone famous doesn't mean I'm going to love what they are hanging up on a wall.. but this is just my opinion .. I hope I'm wrong ?

I think that David Lynch and Mark Frost don't really care for solving mysteries. I think it is a combination of a mood piece by Lynch, and Mark Frost trying to generate as many other questions in audience's minds that will ultimately be unsolvable and unresolved.
Most of Lynch's works end on a happy note though, so all of us should be happy for that!
Well, except Lost Highway, that wasn't a happy ending. Oh yeah, and Mullholland Dr., that wasn't happy either. The Straight Story and The Elephant Man had happy endings, well, amibiguously. And Inland Empire wasn't happy either, that film's main character ended up trapped in a room forever....oh....I guess Twin Peaks will not have a happy ending after all.

I think it's pretty cool and Tarantinoesque. Typically, when dealing with "hits," the audience is shown the initial transaction and then the hit itself (or attempt). Just like the Warden Murphy hit. Hutch and Chantel are acting like they're on any ol' road trip rather than being on a premeditated cross country killing spree of sorts. We got to see a small portion of their trip between points B and C. I was cracking up.

I'm concerned that there are new plot lines being introduced here instead of wrapping the existing ones up. I am worried that the commercial success won't be there to justify a Season 4, basically the same scenario that we had 27 years ago at the end of Season 2, which just broke my heart.
I'm ready for Cooper to come back to life, and Detectives Fusco literally threw the fingerprint evidence in the trash at the same time that Norma is worrying about expansion profitability and STILL not with Ed. It's just frustrating.
As much as I truly enjoyed the Secret History book, just wonderful despite a few glaring inconsistences, I'm really worried now that the way everything is going to wrapped up is in book form. While the first book was just great, I don't want that. Twin Peaks has primarily been an acted, performed visual and auditory medium. Not something only on the written page. And I'm worried that's where we're headed.

BTW, I didn't mean to convey that I'm not happy about Norma's plot line. I think Peggy Lipton has totally been underutilized this season. She's awesome!
