Coop releases something in the guy who was going to poison him, causing him to stop the plan and confess. Some of Coop's giftedness coming out.

Maybe you're right. It was hard to tell on my TV whether that was supposed to be dandruff or like a glittering light such as Cooper has seen in the Case Files and on Anthony's face previously. It was just dandruff, huh?  Was it a visual clue for Cooper to make his mind subconsciously think "poison?" If so, what does dandruff or poison have in it as a visual cue to make Cooper—the man who can't get out of a car on his own—reach out and massage Anthony's shoulders? Was it the coffee working?

He got help before with the case files from Mike/forces in the BL. He was guided to bring cherry pie to the meeting with the brothers so Belushi's character would recognize a signal from his dream not to kill him. etc.

Wow. I never could have thought of this, but it is very convincing. It seemed different when he took down Ike, though. It looked like Agent Cooper's instinct and training kicked right in. The arm showed up with some additional instructions to tear Ike's hand up, but the initial moves looked like vintage Agent Cooper.

He's all in there,  somewhere.....

I'm sorry, but in my mind it was (likely just perceived) as a shoulder rubbing that suggested DougCoop was relaxed, leading to fears, leading to confession.

A bit of your idea and Deputy Karen's, I reckon.

There are quite a few acupressure/puncture points there - and they overlap with the fibromyalgia 'tender points' which are described as being 'exquisitely painful'.  (I can vouch for that!)
I've had acupuncture in those points and after a bit of screaming/swearing/biting the trolley the muscles relax & you feel really euphoric.  I'm not a believer in chi & all that, but something strange definitely happens!  If you don't actually have chronic pain, I imagine it would be relaxing - especially someone who hasn't been sleeping etc - as Tony described.

I hope it was something like what you all are talking about, cuz otherwise Dougie was just playing with dude's dandruff.

I was yelling at the television "No Dougie, don't touch that. Icky!"

One thing I am eternally grateful for is that I have never had dandruff.  Seeing as I wear black most of the time, it's a damn good job, too.

I once was sitting behind a guy on a bus; this guy had it so bad it looked like he'd jumped up and down on a box of cornflakes, then emptied them on his head.

Anyhow, my first thought was dandruff.  Then, I wondered.  But probably dandruff anyhow.  Mystical, Lodge created dandruff, but dandruff nevertheless.  Probably.

It's dandruff.  Look at the scene where he's on the phone to Mr Todd.  It's clearly there on his shoulder.

You either mean very little, you scrub your head daily with steel wool, or you're an alien.

All of the above.  Especially the steel wool.

Alien might be the case.  Although I still suspect he's the goblin king.

Alien.  Having that long shiny glass thing on me head explains the lack of dandruff.  And I bleed acid, so watch it.
