"Just You" is the Jar-Jar Binks of the Twin Peaks universe.

Erm, no.

One is a totally, teeth grindingly awful, annoying, unnecessary waste of space and the other one is Jar-Jar Binks.

Oh come now! Don't you at least have some respect for the guy knowing full well it's a parody of himself?

Actually watching the scene tonight made me realise that what was cringe worthy with the original scene was actually Donna and Maddie, not James.

Didn't ANYONE like the original scene???  I thought it was dreamy and surreal and just so David Lynch.

You could have knocked me down with a feather when the Roadhouse MC announced, "ladies and gentlemen... James Hurley!"

Who was the girl crying? Clearly a reference to Donna crying during The World Spins in the old series (my favourite TP scene) and the two zombies on backup vocals indicate Maddy and Donna are dead.

What is going on with the necklaces in TP? The new crying girl had the same necklace that Beverley and Audrey have.  Shelley wears her wedding ring as a necklace.

I was seriously hoping he'd do an industrial metal version, Killing Joke style.  But noooo.

*sigh*

The girl crying was Renee, who we saw at the Roadhouse with Shelly and Hannah in Part 2.  Agree with the reference to Donna crying at the Roadhouse.  But the fact that James is singing with two different backup singers 25+ years after he sang the same song with Donna and Maddie really doesn't shed any light at all on the fate of Donna -- and it certainly doesn't mean she's dead.

Watch it again, the gothic eye make up and blank looks on the backing singers are suggestive of something.
