Yes, but Mr. C was "born" with Cooper's memories.  How else would he know to go to the hospital?  Or to ask about Annie?  Or even, especially, to visit Diane?

Judging from his shirtless scene in the doctor's office, sitting in a chair has not inflicted any harm on Cooper's body...

Given that he was shot and is now pretty much fine, it does beg the question of whether he can actually be killed. 

Lest we forget, DALE was shot, and was pretty much fine preternaturally quickly as well!
