It's truly funny you brought up soylent green. When I find myself talking in a political conversation about how to solve many of our problems in life, I suggest I have a clear-cut solution as the founding member of the local soylent green society. Like some others on here have mentioned, I've become annoyed with the Dr. Jacoby broadcasts, as they seem to be repetitive and, because of that, annoying.
But someone on a Reddit forum has posited the notion that 1) Sarah Palmer's talk of "some men are coming" could refer to Woodsmen, 2) those Woodsmen could come from Glastonbury Wood, 3) there could be a Woodsmen invasion of Twin Peaks, and 4) what if the Abe Lincoln Woodsman breaks into Dr. Jacoby's trailer during a broadcast and takes over, kind of like he did in episode 8 at the radio station?
Now that would be a chilling and notable payoff for all these Jacoby scenes.
I rewatched episode 8 with that in mind and realized they set up a perfect parallel for Dr. Jacoby's broadcast, Shelly at the Diner, Big Ed at the gas station, and maybe Nadine listening in instead of the 1950's gal. Forgive me if someone else already mentioned that on a different thread, it seems so obvious now.
But I also like Justin's idea about Dr. Amp's trailer being what the fire represents on Hawk's map. For a while I've been thinking he has waaay too many electrical doohickey's going on in there to be safe in those woods.

Has anyone tried watching the Dr. Amp scenes with red & blue glasses? I bought some on Amazon but apparently they won't arrive until September. My theory is that covering the blue lense (since that's the eye his biggest fan has covered) will reveal some hidden message or something.
I wrote on the colour symbolism thread how David Lynch in Catching The Big Fish talks about 'pure consciousness being like electric gold that activates little robots that put in gold where the dirt and junk and garbage were.....your on the road to a beautiful state of enlightenment'. Doesn't this sound similar to what Dr Lawrence Jacoby seems to be doing on his radio broadcasts and gold shovels?
